We had trouble deciding just what video to share, so we decided to go with two.
We’ll start (return?) Down Under for our viral video this week (the Aussies seem to have figured out the magic formula).
This video is courtesy of the Melbourne Metro transit system, who put together perhaps the catchiest song possible on dumb ways to die, and some whimsical cartoon characters to act them out. You can’t help but smile as the methods of death get crazier and crazier, even when the PSA gets to the important part at the end.
Metro has set up several sites to support the campaign, including a webpage with interactive characters, links to download the song and more information on the campaign, and a tumblr with animated GIFs of the various dumb ways to die. The video has quickly been making the rounds – when Neil Gaiman tweets a link out to his 1.7 million twitter followers, it automatically makes that video viral, right?
The second video is just for fun. It encapsulates our feeling about turkey (but not the Black Friday ridiculousness). We just do that dance in our heads, instead of in the kitchen in front of the turkey leftovers. The dog is hilarious and cute, and the music really makes the shot.
(Side note: can we all agree to stop recording in portrait already? Pretty please?)
