Viral Video: A First Drive (of Google’s Self-Driving Car)

By Hanns-Peter Nagel @hpnagel · On May 30, 2014

Judging by how its products pervade our life, Google increasingly looks like an all-knowing internet giant intent on world (wide web) domination. But it also has this really cool side. You know, the one that comes up with ultra-fast fiber networks, Wi-fi balloons – and the self-driving car. The video is a marketing piece but it really shows how a driverless car could change our lives, freeing up unproductive driving time, lowering stress – even give blind people a whole new sense of mobility. Here is a thought: children born today will never actually have to drive a car. Maybe because of the self-driving car or they just spend too much time on the Internet. Either way, Google’s got you covered.
