The future of the internet, the death of the newspaper & Leeroy Jenkins

Hi. My name is Sarah and I’m addicted to NPR.
At first, it was just a little ‘This American Life’ every other week or so. That Ira Glass, he can just be so comforting after a stressful day when I just need to reflect. Little did I know that he was just a gateway to harder stuff like ‘All Things Considered’ and ‘The Bryant Park Project.’ Now it’s a full-blown daily habit.

Here are my top three MCDM related segments of the past week:

ROFLCon

So Tron Guy, Leeroy Jenkins and a whole bunch of cats using poor grammar walk into a Boston convention center to talk about internet culture and society.
The Bryant Park Project discusses the internet meme madness that happened over the weekend.

Newspaper goes digital

An afternoon paper in Madison was facing some pretty dismal circulation numbers. Realizing the dead tree approach to news doesn’t really work anymore, they stopped printing and moved daily content online. They now only print two weekly tabloid editions, one on entertainment and another on public affairs.
NPR’s Day to Day reports on this great experiment that a lot of people will be observing.

The Future of the Internet

A lot of what we talk about tends to be an idealistic view of technological innovation. Law professor Jonathan Zittrain, author of “The Future of the Internet — And How to Stop It,” discusses his more cautious viewpoint.
Devil’s advocate interview brought to you by All Things Considered.

Curious: how much of your NPR is coming via podcast? Currently getting BPP and Talk of the Nation on demand and loving it.

I get my NPR fix just streaming at my desk through their site. I need to be more mobile & savvy…
I was following BPP through Twitter, but I find their tweets to be really annoying.
