IBM Created A Virtual Recreation Of The Forbidden City

This is a replica in three dimenssions of the Forbidden City in Beijing.  For more than three years, IBM designers built it pixel to pixel.  All the palaces and patios. You can addopt a charactor and explore all the corners of the Forbidden City. You can also talk to other virtual visitors and/or particiapte in the activities. Of course you need to download the software (it takes about 20 minutes), but try it, it’s fun! Of course this doesn’t replace a real visit to Beijing, but for those who can’t afford to go to there, it is an alternative. Click here to visit the Forbidden City

This project sounds interesting and I couldn’t wait to try it. Forbidden City is one of the famous pots in Beijing where lots of travellers go to each year. Now we can explore this historic spot in a digital media form with our new technology. I’ll say it’s an art work combining ancient architecture wirh modern technology. Let’s take a look at it. =)

I went there for a tour when I was 9 years old, however, it is too young to remember every detail in that huge palace. I can only remember that there are lots of golden stuff like plates or bowls in the museum inside it.I am so happy that I can go there again through this three dimenssion form, it is so convinent and ticket saving.
