Jason Patric Joins Cast Of Horror Film As Production Ends
Jason Patric, renowned for his role in “The Lost Boys,” has officially joined the cast of “Terrifier 3,” directed by Damien Leone and produced by Phil Falcone. The production wrapped up filming in New York last week, marking the end of an eagerly anticipated project.
While specific details about Patric’s character remain undisclosed, a first look at the actor in the film has been released. Earlier reports suggested that filming had concluded in the spring, but a few scenes were completed this month to finalize the production.
In “Terrifier 3,” Art the Clown, portrayed by David Howard Thornton, is set to bring another wave of terror to the residents of Miles County as they sleep on Christmas Eve. The film promises to continue the chaos and horror that fans have come to expect from the franchise.
The returning cast includes Lauren LaVera as Sienna, Samantha Scaffidi as Victoria Heyes, Elliot Fullam as Jonathan Shaw, and AEW superstar Chris Jericho as Burke. Additionally, Daniel Roebuck will make his debut as Santa Claus. The film is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on October 11, 2024.
Damien Leone, who wrote and directed the film, expressed his excitement about having Jason Patric on board. “To say it’s an honor and a privilege having Jason on board is an understatement,” Leone said. “He’s one of the best actors of his generation and has a deep respect for this franchise and his craft, which is why I’m thrilled for fans to see his pivotal role in the ‘Terrifier’ universe.”
Leone added, “It’s not every day I get to work with the star of some of my favorite films. This has been a dream come true and a very exciting collaboration.”
“Terrifier 2,” released in 2022, was produced on a micro-budget and went on to generate over $15 million at the global box office. The success of the second installment has set high expectations for “Terrifier 3,” which has been named one of the top 10 most anticipated horror films of 2024 by USA Today.
Following its theatrical release, Cineverse plans to distribute the film across all platforms, including its SCREAMBOX horror streaming service. The franchise is also expanding into other areas, including Halloween-themed merchandise, podcasts, and novelizations.
“Terrifier 3” is produced by Dark Age Cinema Productions, with Phil Falcone as the producer and Lisa Falcone as the executive producer. Co-producers include Michael Leavy, Jason Leavy, George Steuber, and Steve Della Salla. Brad Miska, Brandon Hill, and Erick Opeka serve as executive producers for Cineverse, along with Matthew Helderman and Luke Taylor.
The addition of Jason Patric to the cast is expected to bring a new level of gravitas to the film. Patric, who has a rich history in the horror genre, is known for his breakout role in the ’80s vampire classic “The Lost Boys.” His father, Jason Miller, played Father Karras in “The Exorcist,” and his half-sibling, Joshua John Miller, directed “The Exorcism.”
While there is no official word on Patric’s role in “Terrifier 3,” his involvement is sure to add depth to the expanding world of the Cineverse/Bloody Disgusting endeavor. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see how his character will fit into the narrative and what new horrors Art the Clown will unleash.
The film’s release date, October 11, 2024, strategically positions it just in time for the Halloween season, ensuring that horror enthusiasts will have a new film to look forward to during the spooky season.
As the anticipation builds, the addition of Jason Patric to the cast of “Terrifier 3” has only heightened the excitement surrounding the film. With a talented cast and a dedicated production team, “Terrifier 3” is poised to be a standout entry in the horror genre.
