The Korea Brand Reputation Research Institute conducted an extensive analysis of big data from 730 individual male K-Pop idols, focusing on consumer participation, media activity, communication, and community engagement.
Jin, the eldest member of BTS, secured the number one spot with an impressive 3,865,321 points. This is a significant leap from his 1,263,604 points in May, reflecting his immense popularity and the anticipation surrounding his return. His successful completion of military service on June 12 KST has undoubtedly contributed to this surge in brand value.
Following Jin, ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo claimed the second position with 3,604,710 points. BTS’s Jimin rounded out the top three with 2,258,664 points, showcasing the continued dominance of BTS members in the rankings.
The top 30 individual male K-Pop idols for June 2024 include a mix of familiar faces and rising stars. Alongside Jin, other BTS members such as Jungkook, V, RM, J-Hope, and Suga also featured prominently. The Korean Business Research Institute’s analysis involved extracting 64,291,771 pieces of brand big data from May 15, 2024, to June 15, 2024. This data was used to evaluate the brand reputation of 730 individuals from boy groups. The analysis considered participation, media, communication, and community indices to create a comprehensive brand reputation index based on consumer behavior.
Despite a slight decrease of 1.81% in the overall brand big data compared to May, the analysis revealed interesting trends. There was a 6.20% decrease in brand consumption and a 9.95% decrease in brand issues. However, brand communication saw a significant increase of 16.37%, indicating heightened interaction and engagement with fans. Brand diffusion experienced a 6.26% decrease.
Koo Chang-hwan, Director of the Korean Business Research Institute, highlighted the significance of Jin’s achievement. He noted that the link analysis for Jin prominently featured terms like “discharge,” “thank,” and “congratulate.” Keywords such as “free hug,” “ARMY,” and “fan meeting” were also highly analyzed, reflecting the positive reception from fans. The positive-negative ratio analysis showed an overwhelmingly positive ratio of 95.07%.
