Paul “PK” Kemsley, known for his role on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” recently marked a significant milestone in his personal life. Amid his separation from Dorit Kemsley, PK celebrated six months of sobriety, sharing his achievement on Instagram. He posted a screenshot from a sobriety app, showing he had been sober for “0.50 years, 6.06 months, 185 days, 4,453 hours.”
In his heartfelt message, PK expressed that the best gift he could give his five children on Father’s Day was his sobriety. “Grateful and proud to say this weekend I am 6 months … Happy Father’s Day to all you great dads out there doing your best,” he wrote.
PK, 56, shares two children with Dorit, 47, and has three adult children from his previous marriage to Loretta Gold. Despite the support from many Instagram users, Dorit did not comment or post a tribute to PK on Father’s Day.
PK’s journey to sobriety has not been widely discussed before, but Dorit mentioned his drinking habits during the latest “RHOBH” reunion. She revealed that PK was a “drinker” and that his drinking had made it difficult to have clear-headed conversations. She noted that PK had been sober for 49 days at the time of the reunion, which aired in March.
Dorit initially saw PK’s sobriety as a pivotal moment in their marriage, stating that they were “doing better than ever.” However, by May, the couple announced their separation. In a joint statement, they emphasized their commitment to maintaining a harmonious environment for their children while they reevaluated their relationship.
The couple, who married in 2015, co-parent their son Jagger, 10, and daughter Phoenix, 8. Dorit has been open about their marital struggles, particularly during Season 13 of “RHOBH.” She admitted that PK’s frequent traveling and her PTSD from a 2021 home invasion had strained their relationship.
Despite their separation, Dorit was seen filming the new season of “RHOBH” while still wearing her wedding ring. The couple’s relationship has been a focal point of the show, with Dorit expressing her frustrations about PK’s lack of understanding and presence during her difficult times.
PK’s sobriety journey is a significant personal achievement, especially during such a tumultuous period in his life. His commitment to remaining sober for his children is a testament to his dedication to his family, even as he navigates the challenges of separation from Dorit.
