Justin Timberlake has been released from custody following his arrest for driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor, New York. The 43-year-old singer was taken into custody on June 17 and held overnight. He appeared in court on June 18, where he was charged with one count of DWI and released without bail.
Timberlake was seen leaving the courthouse wearing jeans, a gray graphic T-shirt, a short-sleeve black cardigan, a black baseball hat, white Nike shoes, and sunglasses. According to police, he was stopped after running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane. Officers noted a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, and Timberlake admitted to having “one martini” before driving.
A source close to the situation revealed that Timberlake had been dining with friends in the Sag Harbor neighborhood before his arrest. As he left the restaurant, a patrol car was stationed nearby, leading to his traffic stop and subsequent arrest. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
Timberlake, who shares two sons with his wife Jessica Biel, has been on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour since April. His next performance is scheduled for June 21 in Chicago, followed by shows in New York and Boston later this month. Despite his busy schedule, Timberlake was unable to attend the Met Gala with Biel last month due to prior tour commitments.
During his court appearance, Timberlake was accompanied by his attorney Ed Burke Jr. and two other individuals. He was handcuffed with his hands in front of him and wore a black bowling shirt, light jeans, and white and baby blue Air Force 1s. His cuffs were removed after the arraignment, and he appeared visibly upset.
The Sag Harbor Police Department released a statement confirming Timberlake’s arrest and detailing the circumstances. The statement noted that Timberlake was observed operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition and was arrested, processed, and held overnight for arraignment. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court again on July 26.
Timberlake’s representatives have not yet commented on the incident. The singer is currently on tour to support his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was. His next concerts are set for June 21 and 22 in Chicago, followed by shows on June 25 and 26 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Earlier this week, Timberlake celebrated Father’s Day with his family. Biel shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, praising Timberlake as “THE ROCK” for their family. Timberlake also posted a tribute to his sons, calling them his “2 greatest gifts” and expressing his love and gratitude for them.
Despite the recent legal troubles, Timberlake’s tour continues, with upcoming performances in Poland, Germany, and the UK. Fans are eagerly awaiting his return to the stage, and many are hopeful that this incident will not overshadow his ongoing success and contributions to the music industry.
