Taylor Swift’s highly-anticipated Eras Tour made a grand entrance in London on Friday night, captivating fans at Wembley Stadium. Among the star-studded audience were notable figures such as her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and model Cara Delevingne. However, it was the presence of Prince William and his two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, that truly stole the spotlight.
Celebrating his 42nd birthday, Prince William took his children backstage to meet Swift. The group commemorated the occasion with a selfie, which Swift later shared with her 283 million Instagram followers. In the photo, Swift, Kelce, and the royal trio are all smiles. Swift captioned the image, “Happy Bday, M8! London shows are off to a splendid start,” accompanied by a Union Jack flag, the star-spangled banner, and a hand-shaking emoji.
Prince William also shared a photo of the group on the official Instagram account of the Prince and Princess of Wales, expressing gratitude with the caption, “Thank you, Taylor Swift, for a great evening!”
This isn’t the first time Swift and Prince William have shared a memorable moment. In 2013, they famously joined Jon Bon Jovi on stage to sing “Livin’ on a Prayer” during a charity event at Kensington Palace. The video of this impromptu performance has since become a viral sensation.
Swift’s London concert was attended by other celebrities, including Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan and actress Salma Hayek. The show marked the beginning of a three-night stint at Wembley Stadium, with Paramore as the special guest.
Swift’s Eras Tour, which began in March 2023, has been a global sensation. The tour is set to conclude in December, marking the end of an era for the pop superstar.
