Bensimon, 56, has decided to take some time for herself before discussing the split in detail. Her representative told Us Weekly on June 25 that Kelly’s primary focus is her daughters, Sea, 26, and Teddy, 24, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Gilles Bensimon. In a separate statement to Page Six, Kelly emphasized her commitment to her children, stating, “I have decided that my two daughters are my priority and I won’t be moving forward with this wedding.”
The couple had planned an intimate ceremony in the backyard of Litner’s mother’s home in Boston, followed by a larger celebration in the Hamptons. Kelly had been deeply involved in the wedding preparations, even joking to People in December 2023 about potentially becoming a “bridezilla” despite her initial intentions to remain relaxed.
The engagement was announced in 2023 during a 4th of July vacation to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Kelly recounted the proposal to Us Weekly, describing how Scott asked her to marry him while she was in a pink bikini, making the moment feel genuine and unplanned. The couple’s relationship seemed to be progressing smoothly, with Kelly listing her New York City apartment for rent and moving in with Scott in September 2023.
Kelly’s wedding plans included picking out three dresses from Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City and enjoying a bachelorette trip with her daughters to Sandals Dunn’s River in Jamaica. She expressed her excitement about getting married later in life, telling Page Six in June that she almost cried while trying on her gowns.
