Fans were thrilled to see Catherine, Princess of Wales, better known as Kate Middleton, make an appearance at the 2024 Trooping the Colour. However, many noted that her public appearances might be less frequent following her cancer diagnosis. Despite this, insiders and royal enthusiasts are hopeful for another sighting of Kate before the summer ends.
Experts now believe that Kate will be back in the public eye as early as July. Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox, “Her next goal is to attend the Wimbledon Championships at the All England Law Tennis Club starting July 1.”
Both insiders and experts are confident that Kate will make her annual appearance at Wimbledon. Fordwich added, “As the most avid tennis fan and patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, she usually attends in the Royal Box to watch most major matches, later handing out trophies to winners.”
Many were disappointed that Kate and her youngest son, Prince Louis, did not attend the Taylor Swift concert with the rest of the Wales family. Fordwich explained that Kate took that time to rest and regain her strength. “She later took time to rest whilst Prince William took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to Wembley Stadium for the Taylor Swift concert,” she said.
Wimbledon seems to be the next event on Kate’s calendar for 2024. This makes sense given her love for tennis and her history of attending the tournament, whether solo or with her family. Kate has been a patron of the All-England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club since 2016, and they are planning for her absence this year. However, fans are hopeful that she will make an appearance.
Kate’s recent absence from public life has been a topic of much discussion. After months of speculation, she revealed her cancer diagnosis and her upcoming chemotherapy treatments in a heartfelt video on March 22. The announcement was a shock to many, and with three members of the royal family undergoing cancer treatments, it is an unprecedented situation.
In the video, Kate asked for “time, space, and privacy to recover,” showing her determination and strength despite her frailty. UK body language expert Judi James told Page Six that Kate’s solo appearance in the video was a testament to her courage. “Despite her obvious frailty, there are many signs of ongoing strength, determination, and firmness in her non-verbal signals,” James said, calling it “one of the bravest solo speeches of any royal in history.”
James also noted that Kate’s body language indicated a strong bond with Prince William, despite his absence in the video. Kate had a “faint smile of affection” when she mentioned her husband as a “great source of comfort and reassurance.”
The royal family is known for its cross-generational bonds, and fans love to see the interactions between the younger members. However, royal commentators have noted that the Wales children have little to no relationship with their cousins, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the children of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker discussed this issue on GB News’ flagship podcast, The Royal Record. Svar Nanan-Sen, GBNews.com’s Royal Editor, mentioned that the feud between Harry and William, as well as Kate and Meghan, has created a rift that affects the entire family. “William and Kate don’t have any relationship with Archie and Lilibet either. We know that King Charles has only met Lilibet once – the same probably goes for William and Kate,” Svar said. “Archie and Lilibet have no relationship with George, Charlotte, and Louis – and they’re cousins.”
Cameron added, “That’s really sad because what’s lovely about Prince William’s generation is the beautiful bond that he has with his cousins.”
As of now, the Wales family has no relationship with the Sussex children. Harry and Meghan started dating in 2016 and were married in April 2018. They share two children, Archie, born in May 2019, and Lilibet Diana, born in June 2021.
Fans are hopeful for Kate’s speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her at Wimbledon and other public events in the future.
