Zara Tindall and Princess Eugenie of York recently attended The Anti Slavery Collective’s inaugural Winter Gala at Battersea Arts Centre, showcasing their close bond. The two royal cousins, who are first cousins, have a long history of shared experiences and mutual support, despite their nearly 10-year age gap.
At the Cheltenham Festival on March 13, Zara and Eugenie arrived together with their husbands, Jack Brooksbank and Mike Tindall. Eugenie looked elegant in a chic white ensemble, while Zara opted for a smart navy trouser suit. The pair were visibly happy, chatting and exchanging glances as they watched the races, highlighting their strong friendship.
Growing up in the royal spotlight, Zara and Eugenie have always shared a close bond. This connection was evident when Zara’s eldest daughter was one of Eugenie’s bridesmaids at her wedding in October 2018. Their friendship was further solidified when they held a joint christening for their children in 2021. The late Queen Elizabeth II attended the double christening for Lucas Tindall, Zara’s son, and August Brooksbank, Eugenie’s eldest.
The deaths of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II brought the cousins even closer. After the Duke of Edinburgh’s memorial service, Zara, Eugenie, and Princess Beatrice were seen dining together at Scott’s in Mayfair. They also supported each other during the Queen’s funeral, standing side-by-side at their grandmother’s vigil in Westminster Hall in the autumn of 2022.
Their bond was further showcased on the eve of King Charles III’s coronation, when Zara and Eugenie, along with their husbands, enjoyed a night out at the exclusive Mayfair private members’ club Oswald’s. This year, their friendship has been more visible than ever. Zara attended Princess Eugenie’s charity gala over Christmas, and the cousins posed together on the red carpet.
The Tindalls and Brooksbanks also enjoyed a weekend away in Bahrain to watch the Grand Prix earlier this month. Their husbands, Mike and Jack, who have also developed a close friendship, were seen hugging before parting ways on the tarmac.
Zara Tindall shares a particularly close bond with her younger cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. The trio have attended countless official royal engagements together and also choose to spend time together in their personal lives. Recently, Beatrice and Zara enjoyed a weekend in Monaco with their friend, British TV presenter Natalie Pinkham, where they watched the Formula One Grand Prix. A photo surfaced of the three women enjoying themselves, with Beatrice and Natalie kissing Zara on either cheek.
In May 2024, all three women supported their cousin Prince William at a Buckingham Palace garden party. Eugenie uploaded photos of the event, expressing her delight in supporting her family and meeting individuals who have gone above and beyond to support their communities.
In March 2024, Zara and Mike Tindall were joined by Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi for a day at the Cheltenham Festival. The group smiled for cameras and appeared to be enjoying themselves at the annual horse-racing event.
Zara’s third child, Lucas, was born just weeks after Eugenie’s first child, August. The pair held a joint christening for their sons in November 2021, further showcasing their close family bond.

Zara stepped out to support Eugenie at her Anti Slavery Collective Winter Gala in November, and the York sisters supported Zara when she competed in the London Olympics in 2012.
One moment that delighted royal fans was in 2022 when Princess Eugenie shared a sweet photo montage in honor of Beatrice’s 34th birthday, which included a candid snap of the three women looking glamorous while relaxing in the sunshine.
In March, Zara and Eugenie looked closer than ever when they were arm-in-arm on day two of the Cheltenham Festival. Zara looked chic in a navy blue suit with a maroon shirt and matching fascinator, while Beatrice opted for a white coat and trilby hat.
