Travis Kelce Reveals Stunning Cost of Taylor Swift’s Super Bowl Suite
Taylor Swift likes shiny things, and Travis Kelce can afford them. Indeed, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end hinted at the jaw-dropping number he paid for the “Karma” singer, as well as family and friends, to cheer him on from a suite in Allegiant Stadium at the 2024 Super Bowl.
In a clip from Netflix’s Receiver, which hit the platform July 10, Travis discusses the ticket rates with fellow tight end San Francisco 49ers George Kittle—who noted he couldn’t “afford” a suite for his family. As Travis jokingly put it, “Because they’re f–king three million dollars?”
And while Travis’ support system—which included Taylor, as well as his brother Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie Kelce, parents Donna Kelce and Ed Kelce and stars like Ice Spice and Blake Lively—was given the luxury treatment, it didn’t come easily for the tight end. After all, back in February, he joked about what he was doing to prepare ahead of the big game. “I’m not doing much different,” he said on New Heights at the time. “Other than just counting how much money I’m spending on this damn Super Bowl for family and friends to come. Just making sure I’m on top of those finances and losing all this money.”
Meanwhile Taylor—who was in the midst of the Asia leg of her Eras Tour during the Super Bowl—showed her dedication to Travis by flying from Tokyo, Japan to Las Vegas in order to see the game, combatting a 10-hour flight and a 16-hour time difference.
“Thank you for making it halfway across the world,” Travis told Taylor on the field after the Chiefs achieved their Super Bowl victory. “You’re the best baby. The absolute best. How do you not have jet lag right now?”
But Travis clearly has Taylor’s heartbeat skipping down more than just 16th Avenue, as she wasn’t even phased by the long travel day. “Jet lag is a choice,” she told him, before expressing her own awe for Travis’ performance. “That was unbelievable. How did you do that?”
Throughout the past year, Travis and Taylor’s relationship has been full of surprises—for each other and the world. Keep reading for a look back at their romance.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s love story began in July 2023, when the singer’s Eras Tour made a stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. As a huge Swiftie, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end caught the show with hopes of giving Taylor a friendship bracelet with his number on it. However, he failed to complete the pass due to her pre-show rituals.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Travis shared on the July 26 episode of his New Heights podcast. “So, I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”
After publicly recounting his fumble—a move Taylor would later describe as “metal as hell”—Travis decided to shoot his shot and invite the Grammy winner to watch the Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium. “I threw it out there, I threw the ball in her court,” he shared on The Pat McAfee Show. “I told her, you know, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead, you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one’s a little more lit.’ So, we’ll see what happens in the near future.”
Travis was rocking a mustache—which he debuted in August during training camp—when he was first introduced to Taylor. As he later noted of the era, “That ‘stache and the 87 jersey was pretty iconic there for a little bit, and I had it when I met Taylor for the first time.”
By early September, a source close to the situation told E! News that Travis and Taylor were “texting and talking here and there.” “It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”
Accepting Travis’ invite, Taylor joined the athlete’s mom Donna Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium to watch him and the Chiefs take on the Chicago Bears. After the game, Taylor and Travis were seen packing PDA at a local bar. Though folklore had it that it was the couple’s first in-person meeting, the “Karma” singer later clarified the two had spent a “significant amount of time” getting to know each other beforehand. As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
As an indication that the relationship was heating up, Taylor brought her squad—including friends Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter and Antoni Porowski—to watch the Chiefs play against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Another sign that Travis could be The 1? Taylor started bonding with Brittany Mahomes—the wife of Travis’ BFF and teammate Patrick Mahomes—in and outside of NFL games.
The couple took their romance to TV, making a surprise appearance on the Oct. 14 episode of Saturday Night Live. Their Big Apple takeover also included the after-party for the NBC sketch show and a date night at the Waverly Inn.
During a bye week, Travis traveled down to Argentina to catch the South American leg of Taylor’s Eras Tour. Not only did the NFL star bond with Taylor’s dad, Scott Swift, at the Nov. 11 show in Buenos Aires, but he also got a special shoutout from the stage. “Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.” After the show, the Midnights artist was seen running up to Travis backstage and greeting him with a passionate kiss.
Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games. “I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she told Time. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone.”
The music superstar turned Travis’ Dec. 17 game into a family affair, bringing her dad to cheer on her man. Taylor and Travis spent their first New Year’s Eve together, sharing a romantic kiss when the clock struck midnight on Jan. 1.
Continuing to bond with Travis’ family, Taylor hung out with his brother Jason Kelce and sister-in-law Kylie Kelce at the Chiefs’ game against the Buffalo Bills. Taylor joined Travis on the football field when the Chiefs won the AFC Championship, a victory that cemented the team’s spot in the 2024 Super Bowl. The couple shared a celebratory kiss before exchanging the L-word. “Tay, I’m gonna enjoy with the guys,” he told her. “I love you—so much it’s not funny.”
The pair locked lips on the field after Travis led the Kansas City Chiefs to victory on Feb. 11, 2024 in Las Vegas. Taylor posted footage of Travis on social media for the first time Feb. 12, poking fun at how she took her parents clubbing with the athlete after the Super Bowl.
Taylor’s first Instagram pic featuring Travis was a selfie of the two with Prince William and his and wife Kate Middleton’s eldest kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte backstage at the singer’s Eras tour show at Wembley Stadium in London. While attending his seventh Eras tour concert, and second show at London’s Wembley Stadium, the NFL star joined his girlfriend onstage as a backup performer during her performance of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”
A luxury suite at the Super Bowl doesn’t come cheap — take it from Travis Kelce. In the new Netflix series Receiver, viewers get an inside look at the lives of several NFL receivers, including San Francisco 49ers teammates George Kittle and Deebo Samuel. As we know, the 49ers made it to this year’s Super Bowl, where they faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs. And in the final episode of the Netflix series, we see a conversation between Travis and George about the extortionate cost of bringing their loved ones to watch the big game.
At an event ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, which took place in Las Vegas on February 11, the two good friends chatted about their families, prompting Travis to ask if George knew where his family members would be sitting at the game. “You guys doing a suite?” the Chiefs tight end asked the 49ers player, who responded: “No, I can’t.” Giving some insight into the cost of a luxury suite at Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium, Travis then cut George off and asked under his breath: “Because they’re fucking 3 million dollars?”
It’s unclear whether Travis — the highest-paid tight end in the league — was being literal with the amount of money he mentioned to George. However, it’s not far off what some people reportedly pay to secure themselves the best seat in the house at the Super Bowl. Despite the huge costs, Travis’s loved ones — including his pop star girlfriend, Taylor Swift — watched him and the Chiefs win the Super Bowl for a second consecutive year from the comfort of a spacious suite.
Despite Taylor being the billionaire in the relationship, Travis previously hinted that he was the one to foot the bill for the family suite. On a February episode of the New Heights podcast, he joked that he was worried about his finances after parting ways with a ton of cash to get all his loved ones to the Super Bowl. Well, having recently signed on for a two-year contract extension with the Chiefs worth over $34 million, his bank balance will hopefully recover soon.
Number 87 has it covered. Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s families will sit together in the same Super Bowl 2024 suite — and the Kansas City Chiefs player is covering the tab. Sources told TMZ that the “Bad Blood” singer’s parents, Andrea and Scott Swift, her brother, Austin, and his girlfriend, Sydney, are going to sit with Travis’ parents, Donna and Ed Kelce, his brother, Jason, and his sister-in-law, Kylie, during the big game in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas Sunday.
Page Six also spoke recently to Chiefs heiress Gracie Hunt, who confirmed Taylor is all set for Sunday. “I know she definitely has her own accommodations,” the former Miss Kansas USA winner, 25, told us exclusively at Shaq’s Fun House event in Las Vegas Friday night. “I hope to cross paths with her on Sunday, but it’s going to be total chaos for everybody. We’re all super excited for Super Bowl Sunday.”
Taylor — who will be traveling back from her Eras Tour show in Tokyo — will be present for the game and TMZ reported that she will be bringing some of her friends along. Insiders at the Allegiant Stadium told TMZ that the suite costs more than $1 million but the two-time Super Bowl champ is covering it all because he wants everyone to have a good time.
Earlier this week, Travis, 34, joked about how much money he was spending for the Super Bowl. “I’m not really doing much different other than just counting how much money I’m spending on this damn Super Bowl for family and friends to come,” he told his brother, Jason, in Thursday’s episode of their “New Heights” podcast. “Just making sure I’m on top of those finances and losing all this money,” the athlete, who is reportedly worth $30 million, quipped.
A day prior, Donna, 71, said she didn’t believe she would be in a pricey suite for the game this year. “You can understand that the boxes in Vegas are multimillion dollars, so I have a feeling I’m not in a box,” the mom of two said on the “Today” show Wednesday morning. “I have a feeling I’m in the stands, so far as I know I’m in the stands with everybody else because it is a pricey Super Bowl.”
The cost of Super Bowl suites has been a hot topic over the last few weeks. Lisa McCaffrey, the mother of San Francisco 49ers player Christian McCaffrey, said no one in her family could even afford to sit in a VIP suite because they cost millions of dollars. “We looked into a suite, and none of us can afford it,” Lisa admitted on her “Your Mom” podcast. “Not even Christian, money bags over there — nor money bags Olivia [Culpo, Christian’s fiancée]. “So, we are not in a suite. I’ll tell you that right now.”
Culpo, 31, then announced that she was planning to surprise her future mom-in-law with a suite at the stadium for her birthday, which falls five days before the game. “Fake news!” she wrote alongside Lisa’s quote. “Happy birthday Lisa I bought you a suite.” Christian then revealed that he is actually covering the tab for his family after the “Culpo Sisters” star’s sweet gesture. “She tried to but I will not let anybody pay to watch me play. I had to nix that,” he told Extra during the Super Bowl LVIII Opening Night event at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas on Monday.
