A viral video of a baby’s enthusiastic and entertaining dance moves has reached millions on TikTok. In the clip, mom Emily Suttles, 31, instructs Amazon Alexa to play “I Like To Move It” by Reel 2 Real and prepares her baby by telling him “it’s coming.” Suttles, based in Michigan, told Newsweek that her son loves to dance, and Alexa is frequently used for playing different tracks in their house.
Mom Emily Suttles, 31, told Newsweek that her baby boy hates car rides and ‘I Like To Move It’ provides a good distraction.
“In the video, he knows a song is going to come on when we say, Hey, Alexa, so he got into his dancing position the second he heard the beat,” she said. As soon as the iconic beats boom through the speakers, Suttles’ baby sits himself down on the floor, raises one hand, and begins shuffling along to the music. Suttles praises him for doing a “good job” and then he proceeds to turn to the camera for his mother’s approval. Suttles also told Newsweek that her baby started to dance the very first time he heard “I Like To Move It” and from that moment on, knew it was going to be a staple choice in the house. “He hates car rides, so it’s the only song we play in the car. Depending on the distance we listen to it anywhere from two to 10 times,” she said. Suttles added that the song is played “at least once a day” in their house.
The video, which has received over 18 million views, prompted over 10,000 comments from other TikTok users across the world expressing their admiration for the toddler choreography. One TikTok user commented: “The hand up told me this man knows how to party,” and another shared: “The fact that I used to dance to this song like crazy when I was little.” Others were quick to comment that the hand in the air gesture means he’s “ready for the club.” When some TikTok users were watching Suttles’ video, it prompted their Alexa to also start playing the catchy tune. “Omg mine played the song,” one user wrote. One mom also commented that her baby puts on a dance performance to “Who Let The Dogs Out.”
Speaking to the reaction on social media, Suttles said that it’s been “overwhelming in the best way.” “I’m so happy his little personality has put a smile on so many people’s faces all around the world,” she said.
