Christina Hall, renowned for her impressive renovations, has taken on a deeply personal project in the season five premiere of “Christina on the Coast.” This time, she’s transforming her parents’ house, which also happens to be her childhood home. Remarkably, she managed to complete the renovation for just $75,000, making it one of the most budget-friendly remodels featured on her HGTV series.
With a budget of $75,000, Hall allocated $59,400 to revamp the kitchen and dining room. In the kitchen, she made subtle changes to the layout while maintaining the existing footprint and raising the ceiling. She introduced new appliances, two-toned white and wood cabinetry, floating shelves, and white countertops and backsplashes. The dining room saw an update with a refreshed farm table, new curved white chairs, and a gold chandelier.
The bar area off the living room received a makeover with a white marble fluted backsplash, an ice maker, and a beverage fridge, costing $4,350. Hall also renovated the laundry room, adding green cabinetry and white hexagon tile flooring for $3,050. The powder room, featuring bold floral wallpaper, was redone for $8,200.
Hall’s approach to this renovation was strategic, avoiding major structural changes like removing or extending walls. This careful planning helped her stay on budget and avoid the common pitfalls of lengthy delays and unexpected issues that often plague renovation projects.
During the final reveal, Hall’s parents were thrilled with the transformation. Her mother was particularly impressed with the powder room, while her father admired the revamped bar. Even Hall’s sister was amazed by the changes, admitting she “could never have envisioned this.”
Christina Hall’s ability to deliver such a stunning renovation on a modest budget is a testament to her expertise and creativity. Her work on her childhood home not only showcases her talent but also highlights the emotional connection she has with the space, making this project truly special.
