### Sofía Vergara’s Reaction
Following the announcement of the Emmy nominations, Sofía Vergara shared several photos from the filming of ‘Griselda’ and expressed her gratitude for the nomination.
“Griselda was my first dramatic role ever, and it took us 15 years (…). I never dreamed that after ‘Modern Family’ I could be part of something as special as ‘Griselda.’ I am honored to be recognized alongside Jodie, Brie, Juno, and Naomi, incredible women who delivered amazing television this year. Thank you, Television Academy, for this incredible honor!” wrote the actress.
### ‘Griselda’ was a Significant Challenge for Sofía Vergara
This series was challenging for the actress during filming as she had to overcome various hurdles to tell the story.
“At fifty years old, I had to learn to smoke and use cocaine,” Vergara revealed during a press conference for the series premiere. She mentioned the series director, Andrés Baiz, taught her some techniques for holding a cigarette and simulating drug use.
In an interview with El Hormiguero, Vergara stated that playing this character was a drastic change for her, as she was used to her comedic role as Gloria in ‘Modern Family.’
“It’s a very violent character, and one of the things that surprised me was how I carried all that tension home. I had to smoke all the time, use cocaine, and shoot guns. I had never smoked in my life; Andi (the director) taught me how, and also how to use cocaine,” added the actress.
