Geraldine Bazán recently addressed the legal action she has taken against Maxime Woodside, Vicky López, and Marco Silva. These radio hosts made misogynistic remarks about her and her daughters on the show ‘Todo para la mujer’.
Through her Instagram account, the actress shared a statement detailing her legal steps against the journalist and her colleagues.
“I have filed a complaint with the General Prosecutor’s Office of Mexico City to address the media gender violence I have recently experienced,” the statement begins.
“Throughout my professional career, I’ve collaborated with all media outlets, always striving to be reciprocal and appreciative, and I will continue to do so. I acknowledge your work and support as a fundamental part of my career,” Bazán continued.
“However, as many of you know, my personal life has been discussed on certain radio programs, inciting gender violence and attacking my dignity. This decision primarily concerns my daughters, who are minors and are being affected,” she added.
Maxine Woodside remarked that Geraldine Bazán became pregnant on her first night out with Gabriel Soto.
In her statement, Bazán also expressed solidarity with other women who have been victims of offensive and discriminatory comments.
“I have decided to speak out for women who are constantly subjected to misogynistic, mocking, and discriminatory opinions disguised as freedom of expression. This is an invitation to stop normalizing these repeated and unaddressed behaviors in our country,” she emphasized.
Bazán, a former participant of ‘La Casa de los Famosos 4’, clarified that she does not intend to restrict freedom of expression, but stressed that her privacy and family should not be subjected to violent comments.
Finally, Bazán informed that the public prosecutor’s office has ruled in her favor, prohibiting the journalist and her collaborators from making any further comments about her.
In another development, Bazán acknowledged being aware of her ex-husband Gabriel Soto’s separation from Irina Baeva.
“I have absolutely nothing to say about that. [Regarding my daughters], it’s what we already knew. I didn’t suspect it; I knew,” she revealed to the Mexican TV show Hoy.
