This Sunday, July 21, a new season of ‘La Casa de los Famosos’ will premiere in its Mexican version. The show’s production has been revealing the participants, with the most recent confirmation being the controversial host Adrián Marcelo, who previously criticized the famous Televisa program.
Marcelo’s announcement on social media sparked significant controversy. In previous statements about the original Telemundo show, he had described it as being for “people without jobs,” speaking negatively about the reality series he is now set to join.
“They ask me about everything, like La Casa de los Famosos or the Kings League. Honestly, I’m happy creating my content; that’s the benefit of not relying on any project. La Casa de los Famosos is for people who don’t have jobs. I have a lot of work. Those shows like La Isla are for people without work,” Marcelo said months ago in the podcast ‘Se lo dijo’.
After his critical remarks about reality shows produced by channels like Televisa and Telemundo, Marcelo stated that these projects are intended for celebrities looking to regain public attention after fading from the spotlight.
“If work is slow, what do we need? People talking about us. In my case, I make videos; that’s how I stay relevant. I don’t need a reality show,” he asserted in the aforementioned podcast.
Galilea Montijo will return as the host for the second season of ‘La Casa de los Famosos México’.
Following the release of the video containing Marcelo’s controversial comments, many users on social media commented that the YouTuber has had to “eat his words” and suggested that his career in the entertainment industry might be declining, which is why he agreed to participate in ‘La Casa de los Famosos México 2’.
Comments on social media included, “It’s true, most join because their careers have declined,” “He ate his words,” and “This is why you should never speak ill of such things.”
