Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shared his sentiments on social media, praising Biden as a great man whose actions are always motivated by love for his country. He emphasized the strong partnership between the United States and Canada, expressing gratitude to both Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also acknowledged Biden’s leadership, highlighting his efforts to strengthen the alliance between their nations. Albanese remarked on their mutual commitment to democratic values, international security, economic prosperity, and climate action for present and future generations.
New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon praised Biden’s lifetime of public service, stating that such dedication deserves great respect. He expressed his gratitude for Biden’s commitment to New Zealand and looked forward to collaborating with him throughout the remainder of his presidency.
In Japan, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi commended Biden’s work in bolstering U.S.-Japan relations. He assured that Japan would continue to coordinate with the new U.S. government, regardless of the election outcome, as reported by Kyodo News.
Similarly, the South Korean Prime Minister’s Office reaffirmed its commitment to the alliance with any U.S. government, although it did not directly comment on Biden’s decision to step aside. This response was reported by the South Korean news agency Yonhap.
