The new hamburgers created by David Muñoz in collaboration with Burger King have sparked considerable excitement among fast food enthusiasts and fans of gourmet cuisine. This partnership aims to deliver a unique culinary experience within the realm of affordable hamburgers, combining the creativity of Michelin-starred chef Muñoz with a popular fast-food chain.
In a recent TikTok video, food influencer José Vives, known on social media as @josefoodvibes, documented his tasting experience with these new offerings. Vives humorously mentioned the unique packaging of the hamburgers, which comes adorned with a crown, saying, "I think the full experience starts with this."
Vives pointed out that while both hamburgers share a similar set of ingredients, the main distinction lies in the type of protein used: one features 100% Angus beef, while the other uses chicken. “They are essentially the same, but the protein is what changes. I wish they had offered more variety,” he remarked. The hamburgers come with a tartar sauce, a spicy tomato chutney, sweet pickles, bacon, and aged cheddar. Vives also highlighted that the buns are made from croissant dough, which adds a lovely buttery aroma.
As Vives tasted the chicken burger, he expressed his enjoyment, stating, “It’s pretty good. It’s packed with sauce. The chicken is ultra-juicy. The tomato chutney is amazing—super sweet, and the chicken is really crunchy.” However, he noted that he couldn’t quite taste the croissant bun, even though he appreciated its rich texture.
When it came to the Angus beef burger, Vives was less impressed. He commented that while it looked appetizing, it resembled more of a traditional fast-food burger. In comparison to the chicken version, he felt the chicken burger was superior. He rated the chicken burger an 8.5 out of 10, keeping in mind that this was a Burger King offering in the low-cost category. Conversely, he gave the Angus beef burger a score of 6 or 6.5, explaining that it wasn’t bad, but it didn’t particularly wow him.
This isn’t Muñoz’s first foray into the hamburger scene. His culinary ventures, including successful concepts like GoXo, StreetXo, and Pollos Muñoz, have previously gained much attention and acclaim.
The new culinary offerings are already available in Spain and have also made their way to restaurants in France, with upcoming availability in Portugal and Italy. Customers can try these burgers until September 9 at all participating locations in Spain, along with options for takeout, drive-thru, and home delivery. Each burger will be priced at €9.95, while a complete meal will cost €11.95.
