John Stamos found comfort in Bob Saget’s autobiography. The 60-year-old actor starred alongside Bob in the classic sitcom "Full House." He reflected on how the audio version of his co-star’s memoir, titled "Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian," helped him cope with his grief following Bob’s accidental death in January 2022.
In a recent appearance on the podcast "Full House Rewind," John recounted, "Do you remember when his book came out? It was very dirty and strange. For some reason, the night Bob passed away, I played his audio tape, and it comforted me. I don’t know why. I listened to it every night when I went to sleep.”
John even found himself rewinding the audiobook to hear a particularly eerie moment when Bob jokingly predicted the cause of his own death. "One morning, I woke up and wondered, ‘Does he say in his book that he hit his head and that’s why he died?’ I told myself, ‘No, it can’t be.’ But when I went back and listened, he joked, ‘I’d hit my head and call TMZ, saying I’m dying.’"
When Bob died, John admitted that he felt utterly "devastated" by the news, recognizing that he would "never" have another friend like his former co-star. On social media, he expressed his heartbreak: "I am broken. I am shattered. I am in complete and absolute shock. I will never have another friend like him. I love you so much, Bobby."
Bob is survived by his daughters, Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer, whom he had with his first wife, Sherri Kramer. At the time of his death, he was married to television host Kelly Rizzo.
