Kate Hudson recently received an outpouring of messages from fellow celebrities during her year-long break from dating. The 45-year-old actress made the decision to step away from relationships while in her thirties. However, that didn’t stop some colleagues in the industry from sending her suggestive DMs.
In a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” the Hollywood star explained, “It’s a great way to meet people and make your ego feel wonderful. I had tons of DMs… I love to flirt, which is why I had to spend a year not dating. Yes, I did.”
Kate, who is now engaged to Danny Fujikawa, discussed her experience with admirers during an episode of the podcast “Call Her Daddy” in May. She shared that at that time, she didn’t want to fall into the same old patterns. “I have a great therapist who told me, ‘I can help you, but you have to do it yourself,’” she revealed.
Reflecting on her break from dating, Kate believes it ultimately drew her closer to Danny, who is 38. They started dating in December 2016 and welcomed their daughter, Rani, in 2018. Danny proposed to her in 2021, and Kate has expressed how much she values their relationship.
Describing their bond, Kate said, “His values are very strong, and he is a lovely person. I think I would never have let him into my life if I hadn’t taken those three years to be so happy being single.”
Before her relationship with Danny, Kate was married to Chris Robinson, the lead singer of the Black Crowes, from 2000 to 2007. They have a son together named Ryder, who is now 20 years old. She also has a 13-year-old son, Bing, with her former fiancé Matt Bellamy, the lead singer of Muse, with whom she was in a relationship from 2010 to 2014.
Kate’s journey through love and self-discovery highlights the importance of personal growth before entering new relationships.
