In recent hours, it was reported that lawyer Javier Pretto, who serves as the municipal vice mayor and is a friend of Marcelo Gutiérrez, will represent the family in the ongoing case. He has indicated that he does not rule out the possibility that there may have been other individuals involved in Catalina’s tragic death.
On Monday, prosecutor José Mana is set to meet with the victim’s father and mother at Tribunales II. They will be accompanied by lawyers Pretto and Capdevila, who will present the necessary documentation to formally become plaintiffs in the case.
Néstor Soto has been charged with simple homicide, and the prosecutor must decide whether to elevate the charges to include gender violence if he believes the circumstances warrant such a classification.
Pretto shared with Radio Mitre Córdoba that they are currently processing footage from a security camera. This evidence could suggest the involvement of additional suspects, but they are awaiting crucial proof that could shed light on that aspect of the investigation.
