Although she currently lives thousands of kilometers away from Spain, Miriam de Ungría often makes trips back to her hometown, Madrid, even if only for a few days. Recently, she spent two weeks in the Spanish capital for two main reasons: to enjoy the summer with her son, Beltrán, who is on his first vacation after completing his studies, and to undergo a surgical procedure.
It’s been over fifteen years since Miriam suffered a serious car accident in 2008 alongside her then-husband, Prince Kardam of Bulgaria, who tragically passed away in 2015 after years in a coma due to the accident’s aftermath. The jewelry designer still faces lingering aftereffects from that incident, necessitating a recent operation on her right hand.
With a cast on her arm and smiling brightly, she was spotted with her son, who just graduated with a PhD in Physics. Miriam underwent surgery about two weeks ago and spent a night at the Ruber International Clinic in Madrid. After the procedure, her youngest son picked her up, and he has taken on the role of her primary caregiver since then. In fact, he was seen carrying his mother’s bag in photographs, showcasing their close bond.
Once she completes her recovery, the Princess of Tirnovo plans to return to Jordan with her husband, whom she married in an intimate ceremony at the Royal Palace in Amman, in the presence of King Abdullah and select royal guests.
