Snoop Dogg will take to the streets of Saint-Denis this Friday, carrying the Olympic torch during the final day of the relay, just hours before the opening ceremony. Alongside the iconic American rapper, French stars like Laetitia Casta and MC Solaar are also expected to be present. There has been complete secrecy regarding who the final torchbearer will be.
The renowned American rap superstar Snoop Dogg has been chosen as one of the last torchbearers for this momentous event. Originally from Los Angeles, which will host the Olympics in 2028, Snoop is also set to be an Olympic commentator for NBC during the Paris 2024 games.
On July 26, Snoop will carry the torch through the streets of Saint-Denis. The torch will pass through the athletes’ village located between the municipalities of Saint-Denis and Saint-Ouen before heading to the Olympic Stadium and Aquatic Center.
Joining Snoop Dogg as torchbearers will be the singer Laetitia Casta and French rapper MC Solaar, who played a significant role in the birth of hip-hop from the University of Saint-Denis in the late 1980s. Additionally, sports icons like former Ukrainian pole vault champion Sergei Bubka, who won the Olympic gold medal in 1988, will also carry the torch.
According to Le Parisien, actor and director Bradley Cooper was offered the chance to be a torchbearer but declined the invitation this past Monday.
A pre-ceremony event will take place in Saint-Denis on Friday afternoon, featuring a free concert by Slimane, France’s candidate for Eurovision 2024.
