Voters of Bullrich and Milei Endorse the PRO-LLA Merger, Complicating Macri’s Strategy

In a recent survey conducted by the University of San Andrés, it was revealed that a significant majority of voters are in favor of a union between the PRO party and Javier Milei’s La Libertad Avanza. Specifically, 79% of those who supported Patricia Bullrich and 63% of Javier Milei’s voters expressed agreement with the idea of merging the two political factions.

This information comes shortly after the formal split between Mauricio Macri and Patricia Bullrich. Their rift deepened when Macri removed Bullrich from her position in the party’s Assembly, replacing her with Martín Yeza, who has stated that “there will be no fusion between the PRO and La Libertad Avanza.”

The survey highlights that among Bullrich’s supporters from the first round of the recent presidential elections, 34% are “very much in favor” of her unity proposal. An additional 49% are “somewhat in favor,” leading to a total of 73% of Bullrich voters backing the idea of a merger in some capacity.

Support for the union is also strong among Milei’s voters, with 68% agreeing to some extent. However, only 25% of them are “very much in favor,” while 43% are “somewhat in favor.”

Bullrich recently downplayed Macri’s stance against merging the two entities by stating that “La Libertad Avanza has already absorbed the PRO votes; that’s the reality.” The survey results appear to support her viewpoint. Bullrich further claimed that one can either support or oppose Milei’s government, asserting that “there can be no middle ground.” She aims to prompt Macri to take a definitive position regarding the libertarian administration.
