Maluma has opened up about how becoming a father profoundly changed his life, to the extent that he now desires to "live forever" to take care of his daughter.
The 30-year-old reggaeton star, whose real name is Juan Luis Londoño Arias, welcomed his first child, a daughter named Paris, in July of last year, when his girlfriend Susana Gómez gave birth. He admits that "everything" in his life has shifted since that moment, fueling his motivation to "conquer the world" each day.
In an interview with Allure magazine, Maluma shared how fatherhood has transformed his perspective. "Everything has changed. And I love it," he expressed. "Now I wake up every day eager to take on the world. I know I have to accomplish things for Paris; nothing is impossible. You have to lead by example. I try to go to bed by 9 PM and rise at 5:30 AM to hit the gym because I want to be healthy. You want to live forever for your children. I want her to be proud of me."
The singer of "Hawái," who gained fame in 2011 with his hit single "Farandulera" and the release of his debut album, "Magia," also noted that while the "essence" of his bad-boy persona on stage remains, he has grown "more mature" since becoming a parent. He has found a way to balance his public image with his family life, even if it can be challenging at times.
According to him, "The essence is still the same, but I would say I’m more mature and calmer. I’m just vibing high. I have fun with my family, but I also enjoy performing on stage. I do the things I love, and finally, I feel like I’m on the right track. It’s difficult to find that balance, but I’ve managed to do it. I’m there, and I work for it."
