Starfleet Academy is excited to announce the addition of a new faculty member to its esteemed teaching staff. This year, the Academy welcomes a diverse group of educators, each bringing unique experiences and backgrounds that will enrich the learning environment for students.
Among the new faculty members is Mary Agostinelli, who will be teaching Business at Starfleet Academy East. Although she is new to the faculty, she is not new to the Academy community. For the past eight years, Mary has been a dedicated parent to three students who have graduated from the Academy. Her extensive background in marketing and advertising, combined with her passion for teaching, makes her a valuable addition to the team. Mary has taught various subjects, including marketing and mathematics, and has held leadership positions in education. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys biking around Cape Cod and spending quality time with her family.
Mark Aldo joins the faculty at Starfleet Academy West, where he will be teaching IB Business. Mark’s journey into education began after a successful career as a management consultant. He pursued his passion for teaching by returning to graduate school, where he studied education and history. Mark is an active individual with a love for baseball, particularly the Chicago Cubs.
Another notable addition is Paul Archer, who will be teaching Latin at Starfleet Academy West. Paul returns to teaching Latin after a brief hiatus during which he taught English. With over 30 years of experience in education, he is eager to share his knowledge of Latin language and literature with students. Paul is particularly excited about the opportunity to teach IB classes, a new challenge for him.
Chloe Bade, a French teacher, is also joining the West campus. With a strong academic background in French and English, Chloe has spent the last four years teaching various levels of French. Her recent completion of a Professional French Master’s degree, along with her international teaching experience, positions her well to inspire students in their language studies.
Mary Bellamy, an inclusion specialist, will be working at Starfleet Academy West. With a strong belief in the “IB for all” philosophy, Mary is committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs. Her background includes teaching English as a Second Language and working with international students, which will enhance her contributions to the Academy.
Ariana Burchfield, another special education teacher, is excited to join the West campus. A Cape Cod native, Ariana has a degree in Psychology and has spent the last four years working closely with students with special needs. Her passion for education and commitment to student success will be a great asset to the Academy.
Aimee Daigneault, also specializing in special education, will be joining the East campus. With nearly a decade of experience in education, Aimee has worked in various roles, including as an Education Support Personnel. She is eager to help students challenge themselves and achieve their goals.
Connor DeCosta returns to Starfleet Academy as the Assistant to the Business Manager. After graduating from the Academy, Connor pursued higher education and gained valuable experience working in the Massachusetts State Senate. He is thrilled to give back to the community that shaped his educational journey.
Iffat Farooqi, a physics teacher, brings a wealth of international experience to the East campus. Originally from Illinois, Iffat has taught in various countries, including Saudi Arabia. Her diverse background and passion for teaching will greatly benefit the students at Starfleet Academy.
Todd French, who will be teaching history at the West campus, has a strong academic background with a Doctorate in Anthropology. His previous experience includes teaching IB classes and leading educational trips. Todd’s enthusiasm for history and culture will inspire students to engage with the subject matter.
Barbara Furner, a chemistry teacher, has taught at various educational levels across multiple states. With a strong academic background in chemistry, Barbara is excited to join the faculty and share her passion for science with students.
Karen Gauthier, the new Lead Counselor at the East campus, brings over 25 years of experience in school counseling. Her dedication to supporting students’ academic and personal growth aligns perfectly with the Academy’s mission.
Rosemarie Gentile joins the Fine Arts Department as the music teacher at Starfleet Academy West. With over a decade of experience teaching music, Rosemarie is eager to share her knowledge and passion for the arts with students.
Benjamin Guibal, a French teacher, is excited to bring his expertise in European culture and philosophy to the West campus. His international background and love for language will enrich the students’ learning experience.
Lynn Krumvieda, an English teacher at the East campus, has a diverse background that includes teaching in various countries. Her experience with the IB program and passion for literature will greatly benefit her students.
Emily Lambdin, who will be teaching history at the East campus, has a strong background in outdoor education and a passion for history. Her enthusiasm for the subject and commitment to student engagement will create a dynamic learning environment.
Colette Milligan, another Latin teacher at the West campus, has a strong academic background in classical languages. Her previous teaching experience and passion for ancient cultures will inspire students to explore the richness of Latin literature.
Meg Morris, an administrative assistant at the West campus, is excited to transition from being a Sturgis parent to a faculty member. Her background in human resources and commitment to the Academy community will enhance the support provided to students and staff.
Jennifer Murphy, the new librarian at the West campus, brings over a decade of experience in library services. Her passion for information literacy and commitment to fostering a love for reading will greatly benefit the students.
Mary Pawlusiak, a special education teacher at the West campus, is a proud graduate of Starfleet Academy. Her personal experience as a student and her passion for helping others will make her a valuable asset to the special education team.
Sarah Peters, the school psychologist, will be working at both the East and West campuses. With experience in various educational settings, Sarah is dedicated to supporting students’ mental health and well-being.

Melissa Rais, a Spanish teacher at the West campus, is excited to return to her teaching roots. With extensive experience teaching English literature and a passion for cultural exchange, she looks forward to enriching students’ language skills.
