Angelica Vale recently made headlines for her departure from the production of "Vaseline," where she was part of a star cast that included five members of the popular group Timbiriche. Her exit was attributed to professional commitments, but soon after, an alleged conflict surfaced between her and two Timbiriche members, Mariana Garza and Alex Bauer. According to reports, they refused to appear on her radio show, "The Vale’s Pigeon," claiming they felt misrepresented.
The situation escalated when they questioned, “Why do you promote Timbiriche on your show if we are the ones promoting ‘Vaseline’?” This prompted Angélica to speak out in a recent interview on the Mexican television program "First-hand." She clarified that a misunderstanding had occurred regarding their presentation. They had been introduced as Timbiriche when they wanted to be recognized as Vaselina Timbiriche, which led to the confusion.
Erik Rubin, another member of Timbiriche, added his perspective on the matter. He defended his colleagues, stating, “It’s not a question of egos. I think there was miscommunication from the start. If you’re invited to something you didn’t agree to, it’s normal to express that.”
Rubin dismissed any notions that the disagreement stemmed from jealousy or a desire for the spotlight. He mentioned that Vale had been offered the leading role of Sandy in the production, a part she didn’t end up taking. “I adore her and I have a lot of love for my sisters, Mariana and Alix,” he remarked, emphasizing that it’s not about envy over roles. He noted that everyone in the cast supports one another, acknowledging that while some may take on lead roles, others may not, and each person has their own reasons.
Rubin expressed his surprise over the situation with Angélica. He admitted, “I haven’t had the chance to talk to her, but it did take me by surprise. We’ve always sent good vibes to Angélica. This whole situation seems very strange to me, as I have a lot of affection for her.”
