Melania Trump was seen leaving Trump Tower with her son Barron on Tuesday, marking their first public appearance since Donald Trump’s conviction in the “hush money” case.
The former first lady and her 18-year-old son were spotted in New York City, accompanied by a significant amount of Louis Vuitton luggage.
Melania opted for a chic, monochromatic look, donning a brown wool Max Mara jumpsuit priced at $1,345. She accessorized with a cognac-colored ostrich Hermès Kelly bag, which can fetch between $15,000 and $17,000 on the resale market.
Their SUV was seen heading towards their residence in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Melania’s outfit was completed with buckled Roger Vivier ballet flats, retailing at $875. Barron, on the other hand, looked sharp in a blue suit paired with black dress shoes and a belt, but no tie.
Staff members were busy loading multiple pieces of Louis Vuitton luggage and several garment bags, including one embroidered with Barron’s initials, into the waiting SUV.
The family’s vehicles were en route to their lavish estate in Bedminster, which serves as their “safe haven.”
This sighting marks the first time Melania has been seen in nearly two weeks, amid her husband’s historic legal battle.
Earlier this week, Donald Trump was convicted of 34 counts of falsifying business records to hide evidence of hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.
Reports indicate that Melania was present at the Manhattan courts during the trial.
“I think in many ways [the guilty verdict is] tougher on [Melania and Barron] than it is on me,” Trump, 77, commented after the trial.
Last month, Donald and Melania attended Barron’s high school graduation in Florida. The entire family also mourned the loss of Melania’s mother at her funeral in January.
Barron graduated from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida, last month. His father was granted permission by trial Judge Juan Merchan to attend the ceremony.
Donald Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka, was seen in Miami earlier this week, dressed in workout attire. She has publicly supported her father, and sources say the case has brought the family closer together.
“This includes a thaw in the sometimes chilly and tense relationship between Melania and Ivanka,” a source revealed.
Melania Trump has been seen for the first time since her husband, former President Donald Trump, was convicted of 36 felony counts. The 54-year-old was spotted with her son, Barron, leaving Trump Tower in New York City on June 5, wearing a brown wool Max Mara jumpsuit and Roger Vivier ballet flats, paired with a Hermès Kelly Ostrich bag in cognac, which can be found on the resale market for up to $17,000.
Looking composed, Melania headed straight to their waiting SUV as doormen loaded their personalized Louis Vuitton luggage into the trunk. It is believed that the mother and son have been staying in Trump Tower since May 23, a week before Trump was found guilty by a jury.
Melania’s father, Viktor Knavs, was also seen leaving Trump Tower earlier in the week.
Barron recently graduated from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida, a private coeducational college-preparatory school. His graduation took place on May 18, and he was cheered on by his mother, father, and grandfather Viktor. Donald Trump was excused from court to attend the ceremony.
Trump, who is also father to sons Eric and Donald Jr., and daughters Ivanka and Tiffany, was supported by his son Eric in court as he was found guilty of 34 counts in the case brought forward by Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg.
The trial began on April 15, a year after Trump was charged with 34 felony counts for falsifying business records to silence his alleged mistress, Stormy Daniels, ahead of his 2016 presidential run.
Bragg claimed it impacted the outcome of the 2016 election, which Trump won over Hillary Clinton.
Reacting to the guilty verdict, Trump reiterated his claim that the trial was rigged, stating, “Our whole country is being rigged right now. This was done by the Biden administration to wound or hurt a political opponent,” and emphasized that the “real verdict” would come on November 5, election day.
Trump is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11, 2024.
