BIGHIT MUSIC has recently provided an update on BTS member Jin’s impending military discharge, sparking excitement among fans worldwide. The agency has requested that fans refrain from visiting the discharge site to ensure safety and prevent overcrowding.
In a statement released on June 11, BIGHIT MUSIC expressed their excitement about Jin’s upcoming discharge. They confirmed that Jin is nearing the completion of his active military service and will soon be discharged. However, they emphasized that the discharge day is reserved exclusively for military personnel, and no special events are planned for that day. The agency urged fans to avoid visiting the site to prevent any safety issues due to overcrowding. Instead, they encouraged fans to convey their warm regards and encouragement in their hearts.
BIGHIT MUSIC also extended their gratitude to fans for their unwavering love and support for Jin. They assured fans that the company would continue to put their utmost effort into supporting their artists.
Earlier this month, on June 2, BIGHIT MUSIC announced plans for a special in-person event as part of this year’s “BTS FESTA.” This event will allow Jin to greet fans and give out hugs following his discharge. The event is scheduled to take place at Seoul’s Jamsil Arena on June 13, one day after Jin’s discharge on June 12.
The agency explained that this event was prepared to fulfill Jin’s wish to spend meaningful time with ARMY in person on BTS’s debut day. They invited fans to join them in expressing their gratitude for the unwavering love and support for BTS. Lucky fans will have the opportunity to engage in two different sessions with Jin. One session will involve fans sharing a “light hug” or a handshake with Jin upon winning a raffle, which is expected to last about three hours. The second session will feature a “Message from Jin,” showcasing various performances that the ARMY wishes to see.
BIGHIT MUSIC also mentioned that the 2024 FESTA in-person event with Jin will be held for Weverse shop GLOBAL purchasers of albums, including solo albums.
Jin, whose real name is Kim Seok-jin, began his mandatory South Korean military duty on December 13, 2022. He was the first member of BTS to enlist following the group’s hiatus announcement. During his service, Jin provided fans with an exciting update about his life in the army. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal earlier than scheduled, allowing him to enjoy several perks, such as wearing a special emblem on his uniform, getting promoted earlier than his peers, and being allowed to take extra leaves of four to five days.
In January, one year into his service, Jin began teasing plans for his return. Celebrating the New Year, he shared a pre-recorded video with fans, saying, “I’m leaving this video so you can watch my pretty, handsome face and spend January and February warmly. I miss you all. I miss you a lot. Wait just a bit more, and you’ll be able to see me with short hair. I’ll grow my hair quickly this year, and I’ll be able to start working hard soon.”
With Jin’s return imminent, BTS ARMY is eagerly counting down the days until the remaining members complete their service duties. J-Hope enlisted on April 18, 2023; Suga enlisted on September 22, 2023; RM enlisted on December 11, 2023; and Jungkook and Jimin both enlisted on December 12, 2023.
As the discharge date approaches, fans are reminded to respect the agency’s request and avoid visiting the site. The safety and well-being of everyone involved are of utmost importance. Fans are encouraged to celebrate Jin’s return in their hearts and look forward to the special in-person event where they can express their love and support for him.
BIGHIT MUSIC’s update on Jin’s military discharge has undoubtedly brought joy and anticipation to fans worldwide. The agency’s efforts to ensure a safe and meaningful experience for both Jin and his fans are commendable. As the countdown to Jin’s discharge continues, fans can look forward to reuniting with their beloved idol and celebrating his return to the stage.
