Meghan Trainor has once again captured the spotlight with the release of her latest music video for “Whoops,” a standout track from her newly launched album, Timeless. The pop sensation, known for her catchy tunes and empowering lyrics, dropped the video on Monday, much to the delight of her fans.
The “Whoops” video showcases Trainor in a minimalist setting, dancing and posing before she dramatically enters with a baseball bat. As she belts out the lyrics about an ex who made a mistake, she proceeds to smash the furniture in the room, adding a visual punch to the song’s message.
With lines like, “And she got ’bout half/Of my looks with no class,” and “Now you say, ‘Come back’/But I think what you really mean is whoops, you messed up,” Trainor delivers a powerful anthem of self-worth and moving on.
“Whoops” is the fourth single from Timeless, following the release of “To the Moon,” “Been Like This” featuring T-Pain, and “I Wanna Thank Me” with Niecy Nash. Trainor has been teasing the music video on TikTok and even performed the track live on Today last Friday.
In an interview on Today, Trainor shared her hopes for the album, saying, “I want them to listen to the self-love anthems and hopefully that helps them. It’s all the stuff I’m going through as a mom: trying to learn to love myself after two C-sections and being kinder to myself. I hope it makes [people] smile.”
Timeless is a collection of tracks that blend Trainor’s signature self-empowering lyrics with a modern sound. The album’s release marks a significant moment for Trainor, who is set to embark on her first tour in seven years this summer and fall. The Timeless Tour will take her to amphitheaters across America, including iconic venues like the Kia Forum in L.A. and New York’s Madison Square Garden.
Timeless follows her 2022 album, Takin’ It Back, which featured hits like “Made You Look” and “Bad For Me” with Teddy Swims. The new album includes collaborations with artists such as T-Pain and Niecy Nash, and features deeply personal songs like “Forget How To Love” and the playful breakup track “Whoops.”
To celebrate the album’s release, Trainor will perform on the TODAY Show Citi Concert Series and make appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. The Timeless Tour kicks off on September 4 at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, OH, and will feature 24 shows across the United States. Special guests like Natasha Bedingfield, Paul Russell, Chris Olsen, and Ryan Trainor will join her on select dates.
Trainor expressed her excitement about the album in a press release from Epic Records, saying, “Timeless is finally yours and I still can’t believe it!! This album means so much to me! I got to work with so many incredible people to bring this album to life, and I’m so grateful for all of them and all the fans for showing so much excitement over it. I can’t wait to play these songs for you on the Timeless Tour! I’ll try not to cry every night with happy tears.”
The Timeless album features 16 tracks, including early releases like “Been Like This” featuring T-Pain, “To The Moon,” and “I Wanna Thank Me” with Niecy Nash. The album also includes tracks like “Crowded Room,” “Crushin’” featuring Lawrence, “Love On Hold” featuring T-Pain, “Rollin’,” “Maybe,” “I Get It,” “Sleepin’ On Me,” “Hate it Here,” “Bestie,” “Doin’ It All For You,” and the title track “Timeless.”
With the release of Timeless and the “Whoops” video, Meghan Trainor continues to solidify her place in the pop music world, delivering songs that resonate with fans and inspire self-love and empowerment.
