On Tuesday afternoon, a 25-year-old woman was struck by a garbage truck in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires. Sources from the emergency medical service, SAME, confirmed to LA NACION that the incident occurred at the intersection of Juan B. Justo Avenue and Guatemala Street, close to the San MartÃn train station. The victim was taken to Fernández Hospital with a chest injury and is reported to be in serious condition.
Fortunately, none of the workers inside the truck sustained any injuries, as clarified by Alberto Crescenti, the head of the emergency service. The Buenos Aires police have limited traffic in the area to just one lane while they manage the situation.
