Three Members of the European Parliament from the political group Se Acabó la Fiesta—Alvise Pérez, Diego Solier, and Nora Junco—are set to join the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group. The ECR is a far-right political family led by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and her party, Brothers of Italy.
The announcement was made on Wednesday after sealing an agreement with the second far-right group, which is the fourth largest in the European Parliament. This alliance aims to enhance European influence in combating illegal immigration, corruption, and protecting Spanish national sovereignty.
Previously, Se Acabó la Fiesta was categorized as ‘non-attached’ to any group after failing to join the newly formed ultra-nationalist Europe of Nations Sovereignty (ENS), which was established by Alternative for Germany. The departure of six MEPs from Vox to join the Patriots of Europe led by Viktor Orbán and Marine Le Pen likely made it easier for Alvise to join this newly strengthened group, which now boasts a total of 81 parliamentarians.
This development marks a significant shift in the balance of power within the European Parliament, reflecting growing far-right sentiments across Europe.
