Ananya Panday has recently opened up about the significance of embracing sadness and vulnerability amid ongoing breakup rumors with Aditya Roy Kapur. The 25-year-old Bollywood actress, during a media appearance, emphasized the importance of experiencing a full range of emotions rather than just focusing on positivity.
Ananya shared that it can be intimidating to express oneself openly, especially in the public eye. She mentioned, “It is one aspect that tied into really what I have been speaking about quite some time. We can’t just feel toxic-positive all of a sudden. We have to feel all the emotions, there has to be sadness to balance out happiness.”
Reflecting on her career, which began at the age of 18, Ananya acknowledged the persistent fear that comes with putting oneself out there. She recounted advice she received, “By not being yourself you might get 100 people to like you but being yourself even if five people like you in the long run, then that is much more fulfilling.” Ananya strives to live by this principle, finding genuine joy in being her true self.
In May, a source close to the Bombay Times confirmed the breakup between Ananya and Aditya after nearly two years of dating. Their relationship rumors began in 2022 when they were spotted together at Kriti Sanon’s Diwali party. The source revealed, “They were going quite strong, and the breakup came as a shock to all of us. They are cordial with each other. Ananya is trying to move on, of course, there’s hurt. She is spending time with her new furry friend.”
While promoting Disney Pixar’s Inside Out 2, where she has lent her voice to Riley in the Hindi version, Ananya reiterated the need to embrace all emotions. Ananya also discussed the fear that comes with starting a career at a young age. “As a young actor who started out when she was 18, there was fear and there always will be fear. She recalled being told that being true to oneself, even if it means fewer people like you, is more fulfilling in the long run. “And that is what I try to go by as it will give me joy,” she added.

In a conversation with Lifestyle Asia India, the Aashiqui 2 actor said, “I guess I’ve always been quiet about my personal life. That’s the way I like it.” He added, “I’ve never really found the need or the urge or the want to have people know all about me and my personal life. So maybe that’s why I keep stuff to myself rather than, you know, put it all out there.”
Aditya continued, “I feel like, why let it in? Why do I have to spend time processing some rubbish that I don’t need to? It’s not helping me.” He further stated, “It’s almost become a sport now where people know that their opinions can be out there and find it necessary to have opinions. They just want to say something about everything.”
Despite the breakup rumors, Ananya and Aditya have been seen together at various events, sparking speculation about their relationship status. Ananya was recently spotted giving Aditya a warm hug at an award function, and the picture quickly went viral, dispelling some doubts about their breakup.
