Armie Hammer Believes He Would Have Died If He Hadn’t Been Blacklisted

Armie Hammer believes he would have ended up dead if he hadn’t been cut off from the industry. The 37-year-old actor faced allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct, including a claim of rape in 2021. Although the Los Angeles Police Department conducted a two-year investigation, no charges were filed. There were also accusations regarding his fantasies about cannibalism.

Hammer has consistently denied all the allegations against him. He believes that confronting the collapse of his career was a pivotal moment for his survival. He did, however, acknowledge his past behaviors, which included cheating on his wife and exploiting people emotionally to feel better.

In a recent conversation with Bill Maher on the podcast ‘Club Random,’ he shared, “My life would have continued just as it was. I know that ultimately it would only lead to one place, and that’s death.” He explained that he experienced what he described as a death of ego, a death of career, and a financial death, suggesting that these experiences are crucial for personal transformation. “Once you die, you can be reborn,” he added.

The star of ‘Call Me By Your Name’ expressed that being ostracized has been “incredibly liberating.” He no longer worries about how others perceive him. He reflected, “Once everyone decides they hate you, you think, ‘Well, I don’t need any of you anyway. I guess I had to learn to be content with myself.’ And then you do that, and it feels amazing.”

Hammer admitted to being “insensitive and inconsiderate” towards others, particularly in his marriage to Elizabeth Chambers, from whom he separated in 2020 after more than eight years together. Despite repeatedly denying the allegations against him, he acknowledged his past mistakes, saying, “I used people to feel better. I was insensitive and inconsiderate of people’s emotions and well-being. I wanted what I wanted and would get it at any cost, even if it hurt someone else’s feelings. And that’s just terrible behavior.”

This reflection marks a new chapter in Hammer’s life, as he navigates the consequences of his past actions and works towards a path of self-discovery and accountability.
