The 2024 BET Awards have officially announced their nominees, with Drake leading the pack with seven nominations, closely followed by Nicki Minaj with six. The awards ceremony, which will be broadcast live on BET on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 8 pm ET/PT, promises a night filled with star-studded performances and exciting revelations.
The performance lineup for the evening includes GloRilla, Latto, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, and Victoria Monét, ensuring a vibrant and dynamic show. The theme for this year’s event is “Standing on Culture,” celebrating the rich and diverse contributions of Black artists to the music industry.
Drake and Nicki Minaj are both nominated in major categories such as Album of the Year, Video of the Year, and Best Collaboration. They are also contenders for Best Male and Female Hip Hop Artist, respectively. The winners will be unveiled during the live ceremony in Los Angeles.
Shaboozey, who has recently gained significant attention with his hit single “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” will be among the performers. Victoria Monét, who won a Grammy for Best R&B Album with “Jaguar II,” is also in the running for Album of the Year. In the Best Group category, the nominees include Â¥$, Ye, Ty Dolla $ign, 2 Chainz & Lil Wayne, 41, Blxst & Bino Rideaux, City Girls, Flo, Maverick City Music, and Wanmor. The Best Collaboration category is packed with hits like “All My Life” by Lil Durk featuring J. Cole, “America Has A Problem (Remix)” by Beyoncé featuring Kendrick Lamar, “Barbie World” by Nicki Minaj & Ice Spice (with Aqua), “Bongos” by Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion, and “Rich Baby Daddy” by Drake featuring Sexyy Red & SZA.
The Best Female Hip Hop Artist nominees are Cardi B, Doja Cat, GloRilla, Ice Spice, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and Sexyy Red. For Best Male Hip Hop Artist, the contenders are 21 Savage, Burna Boy, Drake, Future, Gunna, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and Lil Wayne.
