On July 25, the Civil Guard’s Underwater Activities Specialists Group (GEAS) recovered the body of a 16-year-old boy who had gone missing in the Júcar River near Mariana, in Cuenca.
According to sources from the Civil Guard, the body was found at 10:15 AM on Thursday, at a depth of 2.5 meters in the river.
The search for the boy began on Wednesday afternoon after he jumped into the river, but it was temporarily halted due to poor visibility. The operation included support from Seprona and the Civil Guard’s Citizen Security team in Cuenca.
Family members have reportedly identified the body, as confirmed by Castilla-La Mancha’s 112 emergency services.
