Boy Meets World Star Trina McGee’s Kids Found Out About Pregnancy Online

Trina McGee, known for her role in “Boy Meets World,” recently shared a surprising revelation about her pregnancy at age 54. The news, which she disclosed in an interview with People, not only stunned her fans but also her three adult children, who discovered the information online.

McGee, who is expecting her fourth child and her first with husband Marcello Thedford, recounted the unexpected way her children found out. “I put something on Facebook. I didn’t think it was a big deal, and I said, ‘I’ll call the kids later. They’re grown. They have their own lives.’ So I speak to them maybe once a week on Sundays, normally. Now, we’re speaking a lot more,” she explained. “Two of them found out through the media, and one of them was really pissed. It was just a matter of a couple of hours of a slip.”

Despite the initial shock and a bit of anger from one of her children, McGee said the situation has since been resolved. “We’re all good now. And actually, it jolted us all into really talking and being together,” she added.

McGee’s pregnancy journey has been unique. She attributes her ability to conceive at 54 to a holistic and organic approach, which included working with the Garifuna people in Belize on natural remedies. “Your body has to feel free. The blood has to flow to the uterus,” McGee explained. “Sorry, guys, but you just need certain things for your body to feel nourished. And if you’re in a place or an environment that is not providing that, and you want to conceive, then you need to get out of it. The stress is really important. You have to stay away from stress.”

The actress has received overwhelming support from her family and friends, especially her husband of 16 years. “My husband, he reacted so lovingly. He’s just been so great. He took me out to see deer yesterday and play in a yard, to just keep me peaceful,” she recalled. “We’ve put a lot of work into our marriage, so I’ve got a good one.”

Her former “Boy Meets World” co-stars Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle, and Rider Strong also expressed their excitement and well-wishes. “I actually talked to them on a text a couple of weeks before it had become public knowledge, and I had told them, because honestly, it was in passing about something else,” McGee shared. “It wasn’t like ‘I have to announce it,’ although I loved announcing it to them. But yeah, they’re great!”

The news of her pregnancy has also brought her closer to other people in her life. “My mom’s calling me a little bit more. My bestie from childhood has been calling, and we’ve been interacting,” she said. “That’s what I really love about what babies do. They do have a tendency to bring families together and people who haven’t spoken in a while together. That’s the beauty of it.”

McGee, who is currently 12 weeks along, is preparing for the arrival of her baby by making changes to her home. “We’re building a lot of stuff on our home, and I’m envisioning like a playroom house. My ideas keep getting bigger and bigger,” she said. “I just saw this jungle gym I want to put in the backyard.”

She is also focused on ensuring that everything for the baby is of the highest quality. “All the physical stuff is really fun too. The baby bassinets, picking the materials for things,” she added. “I want everything to be 100% cotton and not with any polyesters or anything in it. All of that preparation is just so wonderful.”

McGee’s journey to pregnancy at 54 is not only a personal triumph but also a source of inspiration for many women. “Honestly, I didn’t think it was such a big deal … and suddenly I realized it’s very inspirational for a lot of women who are over 40, who are looking to conceive,” she said. “When I was typing [my Instagram post], that’s what I was feeling, like there’s somebody out there that is dealing with this that might need a little help and inspiration.”

As she looks forward to welcoming her new baby, McGee is embracing the wisdom and experience she has gained over the years. “I have all this wisdom now, and I know things. I made all these mistakes and I had some real triumphs with my other kids, too,” she said. “So now I can combine all that, and I can pour it into this child, and I can prepare him or her for the realities ahead.”
