Chance Perdomo’s family is keeping his legacy alive. The Boys actor tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident in March at the age of 27. Now, his mother, Monica, is breaking her silence to announce a foundation in his honor.
In a heartfelt post on Chance’s Instagram page, Monica shared the news with his followers. “Dear Friends and Fans,” the caption began. “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write to you following the passing of my beloved son, the love of my life, Chance Perdomo. Your love and support during this incredibly difficult time will be a source of immense comfort to our family.”
“Chance was not only a talented actor but also a kind, compassionate, and beautiful soul who touched the lives of so many,” she continued. “I have kept quiet as you can imagine, to take time to process all of this which has been incredibly difficult and daunting.”
Monica went on to explain her commitment to sharing Chance’s life and “keeping his legacy and memory alive.” She then announced the foundation, noting that she created a “Remembering Chance” merch line that will contribute to the cause.
“In honor of Chance’s passion and the causes he cared so deeply about, we are in the process of establishing the Chance Perdomo Foundation,” she said. “This foundation will support the initiatives that Chance was passionate about, ensuring that his spirit and values continue to make a positive impact on the world.”
She concluded, “Thank you once again for your unwavering love and support. Your kindness and compassion have been a beacon of light in our darkest moments. With heartfelt gratitude, Monica.”
Since his death, the Gen V star has garnered condolences from his costars, who were mourning the tragic and sudden loss. Patrick Schwarzenegger, who starred opposite Perdomo as student Luke Riordan in Gen V, wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “This hurts. A lot. What a young talented actor, and a great friend – gone way too soon. Was a pleasure to work with him in ‘Gen V.’ RIP Chance ❤️ ❤️ ❤️.”
Gen V actor Robert Bazzocchi issued a statement through Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television on Instagram, writing, “Wow. The first thing I said to him at the pilot table read was that he was one of my favorite actors on [The Chilling Adventures of] Sabrina.”
“He’s a standout. So much talent and a warm soul,” he continued. “My heart goes out to his family and loved ones, may he rest in peace.”
Maddie Phillips, who plays Cate Dunlap on Gen V, paid tribute to Perdomo on her Instagram Story at the time. “Our hearts are with Chance’s loved ones as we grieve this shocking loss. We will remember the special moments we had together, his infectious smile that could light up any room, his warm hugs and the authenticity he carried with him always,” she wrote. “Rest in peace dear friend, you will be deeply missed.”
Along with his success in Gen V, The Boys, and Sabrina, Perdomo — who was born in Los Angeles but raised in Southampton, England, according to Deadline — was also known for playing Landon Gibson in the After movie franchise.
The producers of Prime Video’s Gen V are making it clear they have zero intentions of recasting Chance Perdomo after his untimely death. On Sunday, the producers shared a statement on X, formerly called Twitter, that they would not replace Perdomo, who died in a motorcycle crash on March 30. He was 27. “As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at ‘Gen V’ is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory,” the statement said. “We won’t be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our season 2 storylines as we begin production in May.”
“We will honor Chance and his legacy this season,” the statement concluded.
In Gen V, a spinoff of The Boys, Perdomo starred as fan favorite Andre Anderson, an aspiring superhero at Godolkin University who can control magnetism and magnetic fields with his hands. He was also known for his role as Ambrose Spellman in Netflix’s horror series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
In a previous joint statement following his death, the Gen V cast mourned Perdomo’s passing. “Our hearts are with Chance’s loved ones as we grieve this shocking loss. We will remember the special moments we had together, his infectious smile that could light up any room, his warm hugs and the authenticity he carried with him always. Rest in peace dear friend, you will be deeply missed,” the statement said.
Gen V debuted in September 2023 and was renewed for a second season in October. The show’s first season is streaming now on Prime Video.
