Chiquis Rivera’s Wedding Day Scare
Mexican singer Chiquis Rivera shared a frightening experience on her wedding day.
Chiquis, daughter of Jenni Rivera, married photographer Emilio Sánchez in an intimate ceremony at a Las Vegas hotel. The event went smoothly, and after the wedding, they celebrated at a nightclub, as she recounted on her podcast, "Chiquis and Chill."
At 2:00 am, twenty guests decided to leave the nightclub and took an elevator, which got stuck. Chiquis’ husband suffers from anxiety, making the situation very stressful for him. Chiquis also felt she couldn’t breathe as oxygen levels started to drop.
Fortunately, they managed to open the elevator and rescue everyone. Chiquis expressed on her podcast that they could have died on her wedding day.
This wasn’t the only issue they faced. Chiquis mentioned that they forgot the wedding rings and her makeup artist was delayed by two hours. "First, we forgot the wedding rings, but my sister Jenicka saved us. Then, my makeup artist arrived two hours late due to a flight delay, and I began to panic as the ceremony was about to start. Lastly, after the wedding, twenty of us got stuck in an elevator for two and a half hours. We could have died from lack of oxygen, but thankfully, nothing happened," Chiquis shared.
After the elevator ordeal, they decided to enjoy the hotel’s pool and were thankful that nothing serious occurred.
Chiquis Rivera married Emilio Sánchez on July 9th in Las Vegas, with her siblings and close friends in attendance. To honor her mother, Jenni Rivera, Chiquis carried a photo of her mom attached to her bouquet as she walked down the aisle.
