Gerald Cooper, a beloved figure from the popular Prime Video series “Clarkson’s Farm,” has recently shared an encouraging update regarding his battle with prostate cancer. Fans of the show, which features Cooper working alongside Jeremy Clarkson on the Diddly Squat farm, have been eagerly awaiting news about his health since his diagnosis was revealed on the show.

In a heartwarming update, the Clarkson’s Farm social media team confirmed that Cooper is now “happy and healthy” after undergoing cancer treatment and being declared cancer-free. The announcement was accompanied by a photo of Cooper looking cheerful in a woollen jumper, which delighted fans who have been sending messages of support.

Under the photo captioned, “A healthy and happy Gerald!”, fans expressed their joy and relief. One fan wrote, “Can’t like this enough, we love Gerald!” Another commented, “So happy he’s doing well!” A third remarked, “Great news. Keep fighting big man.”

In the last episode of the latest series, Cooper took a moment to thank everyone for their support during his diagnosis. He said, “I would like to thank everybody, all the film crew, and all my friends here. All of you have been so kind to me and my family and thank you very much.”

Viewers first learned of Cooper’s cancer diagnosis in the latest series of the show. The 74-year-old has been a key figure on Diddly Squat since the series began in 2021, taking on various roles including farming, dry stone walling, and even serving as the farm’s ‘head of security’ at one point.

In the first episode of the latest season, which was filmed last year, fans were informed of Cooper’s health condition when Jeremy Clarkson received a phone call about it. Clarkson, visibly shocked, turned to the camera and said, “Gerald’s got cancer. Oh s**t.”

In the following episode, Clarkson confirmed that Cooper had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and revealed that the diagnosis had left the farmer “terrified.” Speaking to Kaleb Cooper, another farmhand, Clarkson shared, “I’ve been phoning around, doctors and things I know, and his odds are really good but it’s scaring him to death.” Kaleb replied, “He doesn’t understand, you know that.” Clarkson agreed, “I know he doesn’t understand and he’s bewildered because, for obvious reasons, somebody said, ‘Look, I’m sorry it’s cancer’, and that’s all he heard. He’s desperately upset, terrified. Poor man.”

Later in the series, after Cooper had undergone an operation, Clarkson provided a positive health update, saying, “The word is he’s on the mend.” Kaleb quipped, “That’s what we like to hear, there’s a few walls that fell down so we need him to be back at it.” Clarkson agreed, “I know we do want him back.”

The news of Cooper’s recovery has been met with widespread relief and happiness from fans. One fan wrote, “Bloody awesome to see him back at full health! Everyone in my Aussie household were so upset when we saw Gerald was sick. Keep up the great work fixing Clarkson’s mistakes Gerald.” Another fan shared, “As a grown man I was in tears twice over this man—the sad news he was ill and then the happy news he was getting better and had beaten the bugger.”

Many fans also took the opportunity to commend Gerald on his sense of fashion, particularly his woolly jumper. One person suggested, “Time for some merch drop. This design would definitely work for the Christmas jumpers.” Another added, “We need to see Gerald’s jumper on sale at Clarkson’s Farm. All proceeds to cancer research! Great to see him back to full beer drinking fitness!”

The new season of “Clarkson’s Farm” continues to follow Jeremy Clarkson’s journey to become a fully-fledged farmer on his Chipping Norton farm. Season three unfolds as the team tackles various challenges, from a pig mortality problem to smashed tractor windows and poor crop quality.

Clarkson’s Farm is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, and fans can continue to follow the adventures and challenges faced by Jeremy Clarkson, Gerald Cooper, and the rest of the team.
