Vertical has secured the U.S. rights to “Clawfoot,” a darkly comic psycho thriller from Yale Entertainment, starring Francesca Eastwood, Milo Gibson, and Olivia Culpo. The film is set for a theatrical release on July 19, 2024.
In “Clawfoot,” Eastwood plays an upper-class suburban housewife who finds herself psychologically terrorized by a manipulative contractor, portrayed by Gibson, who is remodeling her bathroom. The plot takes a twist when she teams up with her best friend, played by Culpo, to turn the tables on the contractor, leading to a twisted battle of wits with unexpected results.
The film marks the directorial debut of Michael Day, known for his producing credits on “The Kill Room” and the “Rogue Warfare” trilogy. The screenplay is penned by April Wolfe, who previously wrote for Blumhouse’s “Black Christmas.” The cast also includes Oliver Cooper and Nestor Carbonell.
Producers Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman of Yale Entertainment worked alongside Day to bring this project to life. The executive producers list includes Lee Broda, Colby Cote, Jim Thomas, Teresa Thomas, Jeffrey Tussi, David Nazar, Patrick Heaphy, Jason Kringstein, Scott Levenson, Will Hirschfeld, and Nicholas Donnermeyer.
Levine and Beckerman expressed their excitement about collaborating with Vertical again, marking their third film partnership in the past year. They praised Wolfe’s clever script and Day’s impressive directorial debut, describing the film as a wild ride with great surprises.
Tony Piantedosi, SVP of Acquisitions at Vertical, negotiated the deal on behalf of Vertical, while Great Escape President Donnermeyer represented the production.
