Eamonn Holmes has been spotted enjoying a relaxed afternoon with his co-star Hayley Sparkes at the Down Hall Hotel in Bishop’s Stortford. This sighting comes shortly after the news broke that Eamonn and his wife, Ruth Langsford, are filing for divorce after 14 years of marriage.
The British presenter looked dapper in a blue suit, while Hayley donned a red floral dress. Hayley shared a photo of the pair on Instagram, captioning it, “What a great start to the week- filming at the stunning Down Hall Hotel and spa for Not Just Travel. Thank you so much to the lovely team at Down Hall for looking after all of us so well and for the delicious afternoon tea!” This marks one of Eamonn’s first public appearances since the announcement of his separation from Ruth.
Meanwhile, Ruth has taken an “extended break” from her role on ITV’s Loose Women. According to a source from The Sun, Ruth will “not be on screen all week.” The source added, “She has decided to extend her break from ITV so will not yet be making a return to the Loose Women panel.” Express.co.uk has reached out to Ruth’s representative for comment.
Eamonn and Ruth, who previously co-hosted This Morning together, share a son named Jack. While Jack is Ruth’s only child, Eamonn has two sons and a daughter—Declan, Rebecca, and Niall—from his previous marriage to Gabrielle.
Eamonn has also taken a week’s holiday from his job on GB News. His break from hosting duties alongside co-host Isabel Webster coincides with the news of his split from Ruth. Sources have previously told Express Online that their work commitments had taken them “in different directions,” but they are determined to “stay friends.”
The couple tied the knot in 2010 after dating for 13 years, in a luxurious wedding ceremony in Hampshire. Neither Ruth nor Eamonn has publicly commented on their split, and their son Jack has also remained silent on the matter. Ruth has previously admitted that when Jack went off to university, she felt like her “heart had been ripped out.” She recalled during a podcast episode that she went into Jack’s room and “cried” on his first day away from home.
Last year, Jack celebrated his 21st birthday, and the proud parents threw him a party. They documented the special day on social media, with Ruth sharing on Instagram, “A wonderful weekend spent celebrating our son Jack’s 21st birthday….where did those years go?!!! Had to do my birthday table of course….it’s family tradition!!”
Eamonn Holmes has expressed his gratitude to viewers for their support following the news of his divorce from Ruth Langsford. The veteran broadcaster returned to his GB News breakfast show on Tuesday after the bank holiday weekend and addressed the headlines surrounding his relationship. He said, “Just before we move on, I would like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support for both of us is very much appreciated.”
The pair previously presented This Morning together and were together for nearly 14 years. A statement released on Saturday read, “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.” Holmes and Loose Women star Langsford married in June 2010 and have one son, Jack, who was born in 2002.
Their wedding, after 13 years of dating, was attended by TV presenters Gloria Hunniford and Jeremy Kyle, EastEnders actress Zoe Lucker, and former champion boxer Barry McGuigan. Holmes also has three children, Declan, Rebecca, and Niall, from his first marriage.
Langsford and Holmes, both 64, first began presenting ITV’s daytime program This Morning together in 2006. They left the program in 2021 and were replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond. The duo has also presented several other shows together, including How The Other Half Lives, Do The Right Thing With Eamonn And Ruth, and Eamonn And Ruth’s 7 Year Itch.
Holmes, who has also fronted coverage on GMTV and Sky News’ Sunrise, launched Breakfast With Eamonn And Isabel on GB News in January 2022. Langsford regularly presents Loose Women, having begun on the show in the 1990s.
