Transportation services in certain parts of Europe are showing signs of recovery following a global computer outage that occurred on Friday. This disruption was caused by a faulty software update from the cybersecurity company CrowdStrike.
As of Saturday, the computer systems of British airports and rail operators have returned to normal operation, according to British Transport Secretary Louise Haigh. She mentioned, “Train operators are no longer reporting cancellations or delays due to the computer failure,” though she acknowledged that a “small number” of flights are still expected to be canceled.
In France, Transport Minister Patrice Vergriete confirmed that normalcy has been restored across all airports in the country. Additionally, several airlines are resuming operations, including one of the world’s largest, Turkish Airlines, which announced, “The global technical issue has been resolved. All our operations have returned to normal.”
