The Irwin family is making fans swoon with their latest set of adorable captures. Recently, the crew of five—including Steve Irwin’s widow, Terri Irwin, and their two adult children, Robert and Bindi, as well as Bindi’s husband, Chandler Powell, and their daughter, Grace—gathered together for pictures that proved to be a treat for their supporters.
In the snaps shared via Instagram on Thursday, July 4, the group seemed to be in a location that is currently experiencing much colder temperatures than that of the U.S. summer climate during this time of year, as they all appeared bundled up in coats, scarves, and other winter gear.
Posing on a rock, Terri, Robert, and Chandler smiled for the camera as the Dancing With the Stars alum attempted to wrangle her toddler, who looked to be making her getaway. Other pictures included Robert and Bindi with their mom and a blurry in-motion shot of the brother-sister duo. In the last photo, the family was finally able to successfully get a shot with everyone looking up, facing the right direction, and smiling for the camera (an accomplishment to be celebrated when children are involved).
“Love these guys 😂☺️,” Robert captioned the photoset on social media, as one fan admitted, “Chaotic pictures are the best 😂.” Still, even with the chaos, people absolutely loved the priceless, unfiltered moments, dubbing the Irwins “the best family.”
“Beautiful Family picture 🥰❤️,” another complimented, while a fourth called them the “cutest family ever🥹.” “Grace running away in the first picture is so funny 🤣 It looks like a lot of fun!!” an additional Instagram user added, as someone else remarked, “What a family! ❤️.”
Some of Robert Irwin’s fans found themselves distracted by his latest social media video showing a python rescue in progress. The conservationist has attracted a dedicated following through the media content he shares frequently. Many of his younger fans often find themselves commenting on how attractive they find the son of the late Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin.
In a new video shared on Instagram on Sat., June 15, Robert’s attention was focused entirely on a carpet python that he said he’d found near a busy road. As he picked up the python, which was several feet long, Robert praised the “beauty,” noting that it was acting “so chill.”
“Look at the size of him,” Robert marveled. Seeing the python behave so calmly was “wild,” he added, explaining that it was “obviously not one of our zoo snakes” but was instead “just crossing the road” to soak up some warmth from the road.
“So he’s sitting out there, getting a nice little bit of warmth today, and lucky he didn’t get run over,” Robert said. “There’s a lot of traffic here.” The clip then switched to a view of a vehicle driving off-road, after which the python was released into what the video indicated was a safer area for the reptile to explore.
Despite the size of the python, some of Robert’s fans instead focused on the size of the 20-year-old’s muscular legs as he walked around with the python balancing between his two hands. “Bro isn’t missing leg day 👊🏼,” one fan applauded. “Mate that leg tan😂😂,” another person commented.
Others who were able to keep their attention on the python praised Robert for his rescue effort, with some noting he is his “dad’s boy 👏👏👏.” “You’re so great with wildlife 👏,” one person commented as another fan said Robert is “like your dad caring for animals good on you mate.” “Imagine being a snake and an Irwin just picks you up,” one fan wrote. “I love how he’s just looking at Robert like ‘I’ve been lying on warm roads my whole life just to get a chance to meet you,’” another fan said.
Robert Irwin is looking ahead to all the possibilities of being an uncle! The 17-year-old Crikey! It’s the Irwins star became an uncle last month when his older sister Bindi Irwin and her husband Chandler Powell welcomed daughter Grace Warrior. On Wednesday, Robert said he’s liking his new familial role — and he “can’t wait” for what is in store with the new addition.
“Being Grace’s uncle is awesome!! I can’t wait to watch this little warrior grow up and take on the world – I reckon she’ll be running the zoo in no time!” writes Robert on Instagram, sharing a gallery of photos of himself holding the baby girl, along with a group photo featuring his mom Terri Irwin plus Bindi and Chandler.
“I feel so honored that I’ll get to share all the amazing experiences that I had growing up in a zoo, and teach her about everything from rescuing wildlife to caring for our family of animals!” Robert adds.
In the comment section, new mom Bindi, 22, couldn’t help but dote on her daughter while showing love for Robert as well. “Grace’s little smile in the last picture ❤️ Here’s to many wonderful adventures ahead. We love you!” she writes. Chandler adds, “The beginning of the best adventure!”
When the family announced Grace’s birth last month, Robert held her while smiling in a photo on his own Instagram page — a picture in which he uncannily resembles his late father Steve Irwin — sharing his excitement about becoming an uncle.
“Let the uncle adventures begin!” he wrote at the time. “Love you so much, Grace ❤️ This little one picked the two best parents in the entire world. The most incredible, caring and strong Mum… and the funnest, coolest and kindest Dad. Love you three so much – I can’t wait for this exciting journey ahead!”
Over on Twitter, Robert said, “I can’t believe I’m an uncle!!! (Or funcle should I say). I love Grace so much already! And she has the two best role models ever – you and Chandler are such amazing parents.”
Over the weekend, Robert shared a sweet photograph of himself and Bindi to mark National Siblings Day. The image featured the Irwin siblings posing next to each other as Bindi holds her newborn daughter and Robert rests his hand gently on the infant. “Happy #NationalSiblingsDay!” Robert wrote with the post. “I’ve got the absolute best sister – Grace definitely has an amazing mum 💙.”
During a virtual appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in January, Robert recalled Bindi’s wedding day and how honored he felt to step in for their late father Steve when walking the bride down the aisle in March 2020.
“I was definitely one of the most incredible moments of my entire life,” he said. “I felt so honored when Bindi first asked me to walk her down the aisle. And then when everything was coming down to the wire and we were planning this wedding — it was really, really hard because of course there were no guests. It was just a little bit chaotic, but at the end of the day it all came together.”
Robert continued, “I think for me I was incredibly emotional at the same time, not only being so proud for Bindi, it’s such a happy day, but also kind of thinking how much I wish that dad could have been there and that was his job to walk her down the aisle.”
