STYX founding guitarist James “JY” Young expressed his excitement, saying, “We’re thrilled to be sharing the stage with FOREIGNER and John Waite in the summer of 2024. Our previous tours with FOREIGNER were fantastic, and we had a blast. We can’t wait to see everyone this summer!”
FOREIGNER’s founding member and lead guitarist, Mick Jones, echoed the sentiment, stating, “I am eagerly anticipating our return to the road with our old friends, STYX. Our ‘Soundtrack Of Summer’ tour ten years ago was a huge success, and our tour album even made it to the Billboard charts. Adding John Waite to the mix will make for an unforgettable night of Classic Rock.”
Kelly Hansen, FOREIGNER’s lead singer, added, “As we continue our farewell tour, the support and reaction from our fans have been incredibly moving. Performing these upcoming shows with STYX and John Waite makes it even more special. I can’t wait to spend many beautiful summer nights across the country, filled with great Classic Rock, music, and friends.”
John Waite also shared his enthusiasm, saying, “I’m looking forward to blazing across the USA with my band this summer. All the hits in all the cities. It will be major. A great night. Don’t miss it – be there!”
The “Renegades & Juke Box Heroes” tour will kick off on June 11, 2024, in Grand Rapids, MI, at the Van Andel Arena. Fans can expect to hear timeless anthems like “Come Sail Away,” “Feels Like The First Time,” “Renegade,” “Juke Box Hero,” “Mr. Roboto,” and “I Want To Know What Love Is.”
In conjunction with the tour announcement, Rhino Records will release new Atmos remixes of FOREIGNER’s classic compilation album, RECORDS, on December 11. This album, which spans the group’s first four studio albums, remains one of their best-selling records. The new digital offering will be available on all digital streaming platforms that support spatial audio mixes, including Apple Music, Amazon Music, and TIDAL.
FOREIGNER continues to captivate audiences with their enduring hits and impressive streaming numbers, which approach 15 million per week. With a catalog of sixteen Top 30 hits, they remain one of the most popular rock acts globally, boasting over 80 million album sales. Their timeless anthems, such as “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” and “I Want To Know What Love Is,” continue to dominate the charts and airwaves.
STYX, comprising James “JY” Young, Tommy Shaw, Chuck Panozzo, Todd Sucherman, Lawrence Gowan, Ricky Phillips, and Will Evankovich, released their 17th studio album, CRASH OF THE CROWN, on June 18, 2021. The album, hailed as a masterpiece, was followed by THE SAME STARDUST EP, featuring new songs and live performances of their classic hits. STYX remains committed to delivering electrifying performances, drawing from over four decades of chart-topping hits and deep cuts.
John Waite, known for his solo career and work with The Babys and Bad English, continues to tour the U.S., performing his beloved hits from the ’80s and ’90s. His latest release, WOODEN HEART ACOUSTIC ANTHOLOGY THE COMPLETE RECORDINGS VOLUMES 1 2 3, came out in 2021. In December 2022, his documentary, John Waite — The Hard Way, was released, offering a candid look at his career and featuring rare archival footage and interviews.
