**Former RHONY Star Kelly Bensimon Cancels Wedding to Scott Litner 4 Days Before Ceremony**
Kelly Bensimon, a former star of “The Real Housewives of New York City,” has called off her engagement to Scott Litner just four days before their planned wedding. The news was confirmed by Us Weekly, with Bensimon’s representative stating that she is taking some time for herself before discussing the split further.
In a statement to Page Six, Bensimon emphasized that her daughters, Sea, 26, and Teddy, 24, whom she shares with ex-husband Gilles Bensimon, are her top priority. “I have decided that my two daughters are my priority and I won’t be moving forward with this wedding,” said the 56-year-old reality star, asking fans for privacy during this time.
The couple had planned to marry in an intimate ceremony in the backyard of Litner’s mother’s home in Boston. They were also organizing a larger celebration in the Hamptons. Bensimon had been deeply involved in planning the Massachusetts nuptials, even joking to People in December 2023 about potentially becoming a “bridezilla” despite her initial intentions to remain relaxed.
Kelly and Scott announced their engagement in 2023 during a 4th of July vacation to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Bensimon recounted the proposal to Us Weekly, describing how Litner asked her to marry him while she was in a pink bikini, completely unprepared for the moment. “It was very real and genuine,” she said, contrasting it with the often Instagrammable and staged proposals seen today.
In September 2023, Bensimon listed her New York City apartment for rent at $28,500 a month and moved in with Litner. Her wedding preparations seemed to be progressing smoothly as she selected three wedding dresses from Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City and enjoyed a bachelorette trip with her daughters to Sandals Dunn’s River in Jamaica. “I’m getting married later in life and I never thought this would happen,” she told Page Six in June, expressing her emotional reaction to trying on her gowns.
The sudden cancellation of the wedding has left many fans and followers surprised. Bensimon had previously expressed her happiness and excitement about the engagement, describing Litner as her “missing piece” in an exclusive statement to ET. “It’s so nice to be with someone that my friends and family all adore,” she had said.
