Glitz and Sequins Reign at Cannes 2024: Top Stunning Looks

The 77th Cannes Film Festival, taking place from May 14 to May 25, has once again proven itself as a beacon of glamour and high fashion. This year, sequins and sparkles stood out on the red carpet of the prestigious festival, celebrating the world of cinema.

Amidst the stunning backdrop of the French Riviera, celebrities in the early days of the event dazzled in their outfits, embracing the trend observed on the spring-summer 2024 runways of Balenciaga, Dior, Chanel, and Valentino.

In Cannes, the allure of sequin-adorned dresses and suits, with their shiny metallic details, caught the flashlights, evoking a sense of sophistication and luxury.

Anya Taylor-Joy chose a champagne-colored Dior gown, complete with a flared skirt underlaid with tulle and a strapless corseted bodice, embodying the “Old Hollywood” style. Her look was accentuated with earrings, rings, and a necklace from Tiffany & Co.

Greta Gerwig, the accomplished American actress, writer, and director, shone in a purple, sequin-laden dress with a bold neckline by Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent, paired with glossy Lee shoes and Chopard jewelry, all styled by Karla Welch.

Lily Gladstone, another jury member of the Cannes Film Festival, impressed in a Gucci sequined dress, darkly toned with floral embroidery, a creation by stylist Jason Rembert who also designed looks for the Met Gala 2024 and the Oscars after-party this year.

Eva Green, part of this edition’s jury, opted for a piece from Armani Privé’s spring-summer 2016 haute couture collection. The dress featured a sequined black corset and a contrasting tulle petticoat.

Léa Seydoux, leading actress in the screened movie “El segundo acto” on Tuesday 14, climbed the stairs in a Louis Vuitton dress with silver and blue sequins. This light-tailed creation by Nicolas Ghesquière was complemented with a necklace from the same house and silver sandals, including jewelry from Louis Vuitton Haute Joaillerie.

British supermodel Naomi Campbell was present at the screening of “Furiosa: From the Mad Max saga,” wearing a black Chanel dress from the fall-winter 1997 collection, featuring transparencies, sequins, and pearl straps.

French actress Frederique Bel made a statement on the red carpet before the premiere of “El segundo acto” with a long dress blending white and silver sequins with feathers, extending into a long tail.

Qian Hui posed in a dress by Joli Poli Boutique, a renowned bridal shop from Vietnam. The dress, showcased at the last Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, stood out with its delicate sparkle and butterfly details.

Flora Coquerel, the current Miss France, shined on the Cannes red carpet in a golden ensemble: a mirrored appliqué dress complemented with a side-parted bun hairstyle and a glossy makeup look.
