Federal prosecutor Guillermo Marijuan has filed a complaint against Gustavo Valdés, the governor of Corrientes province, alleging cover-up, abuse of power, and failure to fulfill public duties in connection with the disappearance of a child named Loan Danilo Peña. José Peña, the child’s father, expressed his astonishment at this legal setback for the governor, stating he “couldn’t believe it,” and considered it “great news.”
The prosecutor’s complaint also implicates several other individuals, including Diego Pellegrini, a senator from Corrientes; the ousted provincial Minister of Security, Buenaventura Duarte; his successor, Alfredo Vallejos; and lawyer José Fernández Codazzi, among others. With this legal action, the child’s disappearance, which occurred on June 13, has officially reached the federal courts in Comodoro Py.

On June 29, Valdés proclaimed that significant progress had been made in solving Loan’s case, noting that Laudelina had provided testimony to both the Attorney General’s Office and the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Corrientes, detailing the events surrounding Loan’s disappearance. He assured that all this information would be forwarded to federal justice for appropriate action.
In a recent interview with Noticias Argentinas, José Peña, the father of Loan, supported the federal prosecutor’s allegations against Governor Valdés. “It’s great news. I couldn’t believe it,” he stressed to NA. Loan has been missing for 40 days, with numerous unresolved questions still looming over the investigation. Meanwhile, José, one of Loan’s brothers, emphasized, “We shouldn’t dismiss anything; Loan has to be found, no matter what.”
